Burstead ground staff have done a GREAT job!

I compliment the Burstead ground staff who have managed to keep the course in great condition despite the recent bout of terrible weather we have had. The course is in great condition and the greens are superb and very true. There are grounds people constantly attending to the course to keep it in good condition and the hard work is really paying off.

Burstead experience 2022

Course has been really well maintained throughout the year and the greens have been SUPERB!. Good to see that the club are putting the membership fees back into investing in the club. Staff are very welcoming and the whole team put you at ease. Staff like Lewis and Pippa are really engaging and friendly. Glad to be a 7 day member at the club and having the ability to have joined in social events like the weekly Moonshiners that happens in the summer weeks (every Thursday). Food is always good and very reasonably priced.

Overpriced and uninspring course with a unfreindly atmosphere.

Played on Thursday 21st October 2021. 18 holes on a new course for us. Poor conditions underfoot after overnight rain was compounded by a surprise Buggy and trolly ban. Even with a stripped-down cart bag that was tough and scores reflected that. The fact that unlike other courses nearby the gravel path doesnt extend beyond the tee down the side of the fairways makes poor conditions worse. We had already booked and paid otherwise we would have probably gone elsewhere. The club shop had snacks and there was a restaurant/bar where you could get hot drinks. We found navigation around the course a little complicated at times and overall the course was quite uninspiring and unwelcoming. The electronic gate was easy to access on entry but an unobvious keypad code to exit.

Don’t become a member of this club they have a swindle thats booked up sat and Sunday mornings for the year so you can’t play till the afternoon ?

80th Birthday lunch

We had my husband’s 80th birthday lunch at Burstead on 2nd February. Food was delicious and the attention from the staff excellent. A really friendly place for a celebration. Particular thanks to Andy and Dino for their help with organising the lunch for our 40 guests making it a memorable occasion. Thank you all once again.

Lions Club of Romford Charter Night

A Charter Night is the annual celebration of the date the Club was formed, similar to a birthday party. It is a formal occassion and on this occassion attend by the Deputy Lutenant of Havering. The three course meal was fantastic, staff very attentive and welcoming. In all the event was the best yet and we are looking forward to returning next year to this superb venue.

21st Birthday Party

I (recently) had my 21st birthday party here on Saturday 16th November. I can't thank all the staff enough-from the never ending emails I sent to Andy O'Brien throughout the year arranging the finer details, to all the bar staff on the night, they were all amazing.

I arrived at 1pm on the day to decorate and unfortunately there was people still eating in the restaurant. Therefore I arranged to come back an hour early than the party was due to start to finish decorating. When I arrived, the bar staff had done all the decorations for me and everything was set up. This was absolutely amazing service.

The bar staff were amazing all night, extremely polite and friendly, always providing quick service. Cant fault them at all.

The next morning I arrived at 10am to see everything had been tidied up and put in a pile for me to take out the venue with ease.

The whole day was made less stressful and enjoyable due to the staffs professionalism. I will definitely return to have more events here! I had an absolutely amazing night. Thank you so much to all the team at the Burstead.

Mayor of Basildon’s Civic Dinner

The Mayor of Basildon held his civic dinner here on Friday 01st November, and can’t praise the venue, staff and food enough. The venue itself is lovely. Nicely decorated with a real relaxing and comfortable feel. The staff are all very polite and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. The food, which was a 3 course meal, was absolutely delicious, well cooked, piping hot and the presentation was fantastic. Everyone commented to the Mayor how lovely the food was. I had the veggie option which was beautiful. So much so, I asked for the recipe.
There were Mayor’s and local businesses from different Burroughs who attended the evening, all of whom have said what a wonderful night it was and the venue is fantastic.
Thank you very much to all involved, in making the night a very memorable one for the Mayor’s civic dinner. Keep up the great work all of you.
