Kou no yu located at the end of kinosaki onsen and far away from all other onsen If you doesn't have much time i prefer to skip this one because there was only indoor onsen available and you have to walk too long way to be there (bus available for ¥100)

Dear Hoon M, Thank you very much for your feedback. We appreciate your view which makes us understand that you are more interested in outdoor onsen. Kou-no-yu actually has one. Set in a quiet location, it is the best place for visitors who wish to relax in the outdoor bath surrounded by nature and fresh air. We hope you come... More

That’s what the onsen brochure said. This onsen is the one end of town, across from Osenji Temple and the Kinosaki ropeway. It is about a 15-min walk from the train station. A very nice onsen with a nice outside bath (RO-TEN-BURO). You get a nice open-air moutainside forest scene. The outside bath’s temperature wasn’t as hot as the inside... More

Dear DYA717, Thank you very much for your comment. As you said, the water here is said to bring happiness, especially in your marriage and longevity. There is a legend that an oriental white stork healed its wounds in the waters of Kono-yu about 1,400 years ago. We wish you much happiness to come and hope to see you again. More

I used the outdoor pool. It's non peak hour at about 12.50pm. Not over crowded at all. Peaceful and calm.

It is somewhat older than the other baths and there were only two grannies when I went, which meant I had the outdoor bath ALL TO MYSELF! It was awesome. The other 2 baths to which I went before were crowded and noisy. Perhaps due to the location (at the end of Kinosaki Onsen center) and architecture inside it seemed... More

This was our second favourite onsen in Kinosaki after Satonoyu...it has lovely outdoor baths with views of the mountainside behind Kinosaki. A little harder to get to than the other baths as it's at the end of town away from the station, but worth the walk! Recommended.

You should consider this onsen if you are going to the Ropeway. This makes a very good side trip after the hike up the peak. This one is the furthest away from the train station. It is not as glamor as the other onsens as this is the oldest one in town. The facility is pretty basic. The indoor pool... More

Ko no Yu (鴻の湯) is the furthest public onsen from Kinosaki station, and nearest to the ropeway entrance. Its exterior is very charming with 2 Japanese stork statues, and there's a mini garden for photo-taking enthusiasts. This onsen is said to bless its visitors with the luck of 'good husband and wife relationship'. This onsen has a outdoor bath in... More
