うすくち醤油館からお城に歩いていく途中にあって、たつの市の歴史を学べる資料館です。古墳、仏教伝来、中世の赤松支配、脇坂家支配と時代区分でよくわかるようにされていました。

脇坂家が２００年近く収めた龍野城の敷地にある歴史文化資料館です。古代から近代まで５つのテーマの展示があり、その中の一つ、龍野城主と城下町に、脇坂家の代名詞「貂の皮」の展示があると期待して訪ねました。予想通り、「貂の皮」は修復されてこの資料館に保管されている事、写真資料とともにご説明を頂きました。但し、展示されていないとの事で、実物を見ることはできませんでした。司馬遼太郎の短編「貂の皮」でも主題となった一品、公開の機会があれば、是非、再訪したい資料館です。

資料館内で特別展としてひな祭り人形、常設展では脇坂家に由来する資料を展示していました。賤ヶ岳資七本槍の脇坂家で武のイメージの強いお家柄ですが福島家、加藤家と比較しても影が薄いという印象のお家です。ただ明治時期まで家系を伝えられたので、それなりに立派かも知れませんね。

本竜野駅から図書館・うすくち資料館を経由してきました。入館料は無料で一部の人は有料。「たつのに鉄道がやってきた」展を開催していました。姫新線で来た人（本竜野駅構内掲示の合言葉を伝える）は抽選ができるというので三角くじをひいたら姫新線利用を呼び掛けるトートバッグ。展示会は山陽鉄道・姫新線・幻の鉄道（竜野鉄道・広軌新幹線）を扱っていました。前日の11月23日には小西伸彦氏と竜野駅と揖保川橋梁の鉄道遺産を巡るというのを先着30名1500円で開催していました、参加者には飴が進呈されました。

龍野城址の一角にあり、建物の意匠も城壁の一部を成しているようだ。内容は龍野市の歴史博物館的なもので、古代から江戸時代にかけての変遷を中心に資料を交えて解説している。開館の経緯がいい。政治家でありゼネコン最大手の鹿島の社長を務めた鹿島守之助が八重洲ブックセンターを通じて寄贈した建物だという。聚遠亭の茶室を寄贈したヒガシマルといい、龍野市は恵まれた土地柄などだと感銘した。

八重洲ブックセンターの鹿島さんの出身地ということでこの資料館は鹿島さんの寄贈。昔は龍野市に含まれていなかった旧龍野市以外は、資料館の守備範囲ではないらしい。資料館は龍野城の場内に建っています。
ネットで調べていてわかったのだが、たつの市立埋蔵文化財センターにはこの施設でカバーしていない地域の史料が収められているらしい。。

龍野城に隣接している歴史文化資料館は、通常はたつの市の歴史を紹介しているのですが、訪問した２月末は特別展としてひな人形展を開催していました。印象に残ったのは「源氏枠飾り雛」。現在では段飾りが主流ですが、関西では明治・大正期に「御殿飾り」が流行したとのこと。「源氏物語絵巻」のように、御殿内部を上から見ることを想定して天井と屋根を取り払ったものを「源氏枠」というそうです。

地図を見ながら車で行くと細い道の奥にありました。常設展はすぐに見て回れる広さでした。城跡がすぐそばなのは良かったです。

龍野城趾、本丸御殿の隣にあります。城下町龍野の歴史、文化が時代ごとに展示されてます。展示が少なく物足りない感じがありますが、短時間で回れます。

龍野城の中にあって、入場料￥200と安いのですが、戦時中の資料などの特別展示をやっていましたが、その他はあまり見るべきものはあまりありませんでした。
