This Temple is filled with followers and is very active. It is alive with the millions of prayers that are recited at the many Temples that are a party of this Temple complex. It doesn't take much to realize that this teaching Temple is historically special, it was built in 1678 on the site of earlier sacred site built by monks in 655.. There are caves behind the buildings on a rock face, are historically significant. The buildings look ancient as do many of the figurines that line the walkways up the mountainside... More

This place is in the middle of a village at the top of the hill so even if you get bored of visiting temples in Japan, the houses builts on slopes offers a nice view. I find this temple is being underrated and don't see it being mentioned in tour guide books. Definitely a place to stop by if you... More

This temple is buddhist temple. This temple stands on a mountain,very beautiful. Many people go to this temple to play. Principal image is Fudo-myoo,and many jizos. Visitor can get a beautiful view on the mountain. try it!
