We were in Iwanuma to celebrate our son's wedding at this shrine. Few words can describe the overall experience of celebrating a traditional Japanese wedding at one of the most stunning shrines in Japan. I highly recommend a visit if you are near the Miyagi area. The shrine is a quick walk from the Iwanuma train station which is available via local and Shinkasen service from Tokyo and Sendai. The shrine is less than 30 minutes from Sendai. The gardens are stunning and Iwanuma is a wonderful host city for such a destination with numerous nearby hotels and restaurants. Highly recommend this if you want to experience true Japan.…

Beautiful shrine in the centre of Iwanuma. Packed on holidays and for special family events, but serene at other times.

Takekoma shrine is called one of the three great Inari shrines in Japan. 15 minutes walk from Iwanuma station. It's not big, but soothing. Famous poet Basho came to Iwanuma, and made a Haiku.
