Not much to see compare to big city. But basically they have everything. Supermarkets (far up in the hill), souvenir stores, cute cafe, ice cream places etc,. Don’t expect to much just enjoy.

Nice, Scharling and vist in beautiful nature. Take the train and STAY a couple of nights, take a bath hotel and relax.

both are great visits. Yufuin specialises in hot spring and more tourism developed. Beppu is a seaside town and has hot spring also, though not specialised in this. depends on your preference!
