Beautiful, natural island with sites almost untouched by people. You can get here by bus from Naha City, even though google maps and possibly your hotel concierge will tell you it's not possible. Take the 38 bus from Naha City twords Shikiya. It will take you about an hour. When you are about 15 minutes away, the bus will end... More

Kudakajima is a lovely island to visit. It was easy to reach from Naha. We caught the local bus from Naha (38) to sansan beach. The bus cost about 800 yen each way. We got the ferry which took about 30 mins to kudaka and cost about 1500 yen return. With the ferry ticket you get provided with a map... More

Most tourist visit here for day trip, because you can see most tourist spots within two hours by riding bicycle. However I recommend you to stay here for over night. This whole island is big power spot and better spend time to look around.

Easy drive to the port (telephone numbers invaluable for GPS) park free. 20 min ferry ride across to this for al island with little on it. There are simple places to stay and snack places for water etc. which is essential as there is little shelter. We decided to walk but bikes were available for hire. It took us 3... More

We spent the better part of a day on Kudaka Island, primarily to see the ancient sites as part of research on old Okinawan culture. The ferry ride was straightforward and we were able to walk the length of the island as well as stop at a number of the historical sites (see picture for map). It was a very... More

Kudaka island is one of isolated island of Okinawa. There are a lot of nature, to put it in other words, there are nothing except the nature. If you want to go some places for sightseeing, I will not recommend you to visit this island. Kudaka island is a little different from other tourist resorts. There are no hotels, convenience... Worth a day-trip from Naha. Due to a ban on development, most of it is unspoiled.. you can have whole beaches to yourself. The east side of the island is bordered by a coral reef, creating a very pleasant lagoon. There are bike rental shops and a couple of cafes in the small port village, so you don't need to... More

Kudaka-jima is a small island that you could see, all of, in a one day trip. Included in my attached photos, there is an English translation of the ferry schedule. Sturdy walking shoes would be the best for exploring the island. Bicycle rental shops are available near the port as you leave the ferry. Few people speak English; I met... More
