The Ichibata Railway departing from from Matsue Shinjiko Onsen Station offers direct trains to Izumo Taisha Mae station close to Izumo Taisha Shrine. Since Matsue Shinjiko Onsen station is the starting station and Izumo Taisha Mae the last station it is an easy ride if you are going to Izumo Taisha Shrine. The trip takes about one hour and travels along the northern shore of Lake Shinji. So during the ride you can enjoy some very spectacular views over the lake as well. The one way fare is 810 Yen. A round trip comes slightly cheaper namely 1500 Yen.

"Ichibata Railway" is a local railway around Izumo and Matsue. Many people use this train to visit Izumo Taisha. Izumo Taisha is the most famous spiritual spot for good relationship in Japan. So, one of the train carriage is wrapped by cute design with pink color and shimanekko cat. If you go around Izumo and Matsue, you can use one day railway ticket for 1500 yen. Also, if you have a plan to visit Ancient Izumo Museum, you can buy one day railway ticket with museum ticket for only 1800 yen! It's very useful vehicle to go around Izumo, and very fun to ride!
