It was a little difficult to find, but we are so glad we didn't give up. If you love castles then you have to add this to your list to see. The castle is high on a hill and was easily seen on the misty, overcast day we visited. I imagine this must look glorious on a clear and sunny... More

We had a wonderful time seeing Hohenzollern Castle. I think it was especially nice because it had snowed that morning and there was a fresh dusting of snow covering all of the trees and the whole castle. It looked like something from a fairy tale! In the winter season, there is only one bus up to the castle from Hechingen... More

It's like Neuschwanstein without the Alps or the large crowds or over-priced amenities... The view from a distance is the best.

Unfortunately it was a very foggy day, so we couldn't see any of the famous views. The castle itself is grand and elaborate but looks very modern as only 150 years old. The English tour was too large, with many on it not able to follow what the guide was saying and therefore talking throughout- they should have limit to... More

Very interesting and far enough off the beaten path that we practically had the castle to ourselves. The guided tour is required for entry and delivered by a very Prussian guide. Set aside a couple of hours for the visit. Beware that the hike from the parking lot is a bit strenuous, if you choose not to take the shuttle.... More

This is a stunningly beautiful castle with incredible views of the surrounding villages and landscape. The castle has a 1000 year history and was destroyed and rebuilt at least once. Great chance to see how the royalty lived. There is a bus that takes you up to the castle and back, or you can walk. It is quite steep. We... More

The castle tour was fun and educational. Our tour guide was quite funny specially for a German (No offense to Germans I'm just trying to be funny). I actually enjoyed it. a good sneak peak at how the Prussian royalties lived during the olden days.
