The village of Buckden now seems rather sleepy in rural Cambridgeshire, as the A1 rushes past a few miles to the west. In the past Buckden was much more strategic and connected. This is why the powerful bishops of Lincoln built a palace here in...More

We walked around the perimeter, as permitted, and it was very pleasant surroundings. The buildings are private but you can walk through the courtyard. The building is beautiful with some stunning architecture.

Well worth a visit - contact beforehand for information. Reception staff were very helpful. The knot garden is quite unusual.
