We had a very relaxed visit, wandering around the abbey for a couple hours and learning some of the history. There are audio guides available in multiple languages, but we were fortunate to have a cousin who knew the place well as our guide. The...More

A UNESCO site that is worth seeking out. Off the beaten track, so not a lot of tourists yet. It's just outside a cute, small town. Large complex in a lovely area. Plan to spend a couple hours. It's very well preserved and has lots...More

We stumbled across this abbey en route from Heildelberg to Pforzheim, and what a find it was! Dating from the 11th century, it was wonderful to explore an intact Cistercian monastery, as all of ours in England seem to be in ruins. There are guided...More

A well preserved abbey that looks as though it could still be in full use. Lots of interesting buildings around it, also in full use. A nice place to spend a sunny afternoon.

This is an amazing place to visit, especially from England where all our Cistercian monasteries lie in ruins. Although there is almost full access for disabled visitors, signage to the disabled entrance is non-existent. Once you find the door, you buzz through to the ticket...More

I love monastic ruins and to find such rich heritage fully intact is a real treat. Up until I visited Maulbronn this past week, Kloster Eberbach was at the top of my list of favorites and I returned to it time and again. Now I...More

I am visiting this area in June with friends on motorbikes. Can we park motorbikes near the Monastery? And how much is it to have a guided tour please?
