    Very Picturesque
We went here on a smaller bus since it is a switchback road winding thru the valley. There are little villages down in the valley. I don't know but it is pretty barren due to the lack of rain. Must be beautiful when it is lush and green.

Wonderful gorge. Be careful how you get back.
Most of this wonderful gorge you will see from a bus or a taxi. The tour buses let you out to take pics. We took a grand taxi to one of the villages past the narrow gorge. BE WARNED: minibuses, grand taxis and even ordinary taxis stop running back to Boulmane by early afternoon. We had to hitch hike back (via 4 kind drivers and the back of an open truck) and it was only 3pm.

If You Have the Chance, Go!
The Dades valley and the gorge are absolutely stunning. If you have the chance, you should go. The drive is a bit daunting as it is a tight switch-back up the mountain, but you can go slow. It was not too busy (or, take a tour and let someone else do the driving). We really enjoyed the views and took A LOT of photos!

    Wonderful guided hike
We hired a guide for a 2 hour hike through the gorge. It was a fun hike with some crevices, rock scrambling and a climb to a gorgeous look out. I can't give a shout-out to our guide as he was arranged through our tour company, Authentic Morocco. It was one of our favourite days during our 2 week trip.

    Amazing hike with Lahcen!
Lahcen (+212 677-657053) was a very good and kind guide. He texted him the day before and met him at the beginning of the hike. He told a lot about the Berber culture and knows a lot about the valley. We would recommend him to all of our friends!

    A drive to remember!
We were lucky enough to stay overnight in the Dadès Gorge, so were able to explore at our leisure. Really breathtaking in places, with such spectacular scenery. The zigzag bends were so impressive… more challenging to drive up, than down…particularly when overtaken by local drivers, who had zero vision as far as oncoming vehicles were concerned. As it was pretty quiet we were able to get some really lovely photos, though wish we had taken a photo of the monkey fingers rocks the night before, with the setting sun on them!
