Where to start? Right from the word go, it was clear that Alpine Cadence is a highly knowledgeable and professional organisation. John and his colleagues Oliver and Martin are a superb team, complementing each other perfectly. The Giro Dolomiti trip was fully supported with Martin driving the minibus/trailer and providing mechanical support etc with John and Oliver riding with the group. As you might expect, even within a group of enthusiastic riders, people ride at different speeds etc, but John and Oliver worked out multiple options to suit the entire group, even when the weather took a temporary turn for the worst (well, we were in the mountains!). Make no mistake, these are challenging rides and it was a hard week but, it was one of the most enjoyable and satisfying I have ever had, cycling or otherwise. All the accommodation we stayed in during the week (6 different locations) was different but all of a very high standard. The biggest dilemma I now have is which of the other trips offered by Alpine Cadence to consider for next year! Thanks you John, Oliver and Martin for an amazing cycling experience.

We did two cycling tours with Alpine Cadence last June and this July: Discover Alps and Trans Alps. We had amazing experiences and are planning more trips with them, bringing friends along. John has a passion for cycling and does a fantastic job designing itineraries, planning rides for a group with different levels of abilities, and motivating/coaching us all to ride better and stronger. Martin provides the best support you can find on a cycling tours, an amazing photographer and drone videographer. Most important of all, we had a lot of fun on the tour everyday, after the hard work of riding across iconic mountain passes. Going (back) to Alpine Cadence makes us feel like being part of a big family . We look forward to our next trip with them, whether in Girona, Alps or Pyrénées. It will always be a wonderful time.

Third trip with John, Martin and Oliver did not disappoint. Great organisation, carefully chosen routes with flexibility to cope with variance in ability. Good accommodation. Good group of riders and I think we all pushed one another, constructively, to new heights. I will be back.

I have lost count a little of how many trips I've ridden with Alpine Cadence but it must be somewhere around the 10 mark by now. Each and every one been brilliant. From Sardinia to Majorca to the Alps to Girona...I think you get the picture. Well organised but with enough freedom to test yourself if and when you want, I've always had great fun riding with good people.

I have been a few of their trips now, and they never fail to disappoint. As a keen cyclist, and someone who likes to challenge himself, it is not always easy to find an organisation that cater for strong riders as well as the recreational. The staff they have on hand mean that if you're up for a tough workout, or a more steady, social spin, they will be accommodating. On the training camps that are in one place, such as Girona, they spend a lot of time route planning, and adjust based on the weather, which is the kind of attention to detail you don't get in many places. It also shows that have really researched and explored the areas well, and have a great diversity of riding terrains available to select from. In terms of expertise, John is a qualified coach and is on hand to provide any advice should it be required. Most commonly on such trips, it is skills for descending, which a lot can be quite nervous about. Is great to see those skills develop in other riders. Am signed up for another trip this year, and cannot wait to go. Don't hesitate in booking, and you will not be disappointed.
