Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Falsely informed at the tourist office in Oficina Turismo Granja as to what was there. The only animals within the gates were those painted on the signs. The palace would be better served being demolished. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Was happy to pay the fee to exit the place. No reason for anyone to ever go there. Stay in Segovia.

We entered the park some 2/3 years ago with the intention of going straight through as it was the most direct route to our destination, but were not permitted to leave until we had paid a fee of several euros. We did not want to visit it again that morning as we had visited the palace years before and on that previous occasion there had been no restrictions on entering or leaving. Never again will we go there.

Out on a random road trip from Madrid we stumbled upon this gem.
Free for over 65's (not me, yet) and only 4 euros to enter (@ Nov 02 2019) this magnificent 'weekender' of royal huntsman is very much worth a visit. Im told by a Alcoa it was also a very favourite place of one of the recent kings (no names mentioned for privacy reasons) to play 'sport' with his favourite Lady friends.

There is a tour at around 2pm, only in Spanish though. Audio guides are available in English.

The grounds are extensive and full of wildlife. Take your binoculars should you be interested in watching birds.

Warning: there is no place to eat or drink here so if you plan on spending the middle of the day there take food and drink with you.

We visited this the same day as La Granja Palace. From our Segovia base, we visited the following in one day and would recommend:
The Palacio Real de la Granja
The Valley of the Fallen
The Palacio Real de Riofrio
The Riofrio Palace is definitely worth a visit but it didn't have the same detail as La Granja.

We visited when we must have been the only people there [unsurprising given the unseasonal snowfalls the day before], but the place itself was extraordinary, and the staff so gentile, and accommodating, of these strange English people visiting in such circumstances. Almost eery in its solitude the setting is so strange, given its scale in such an open landscape, but it is also a little care-worn.

Palace is nice and interesting, however, the kids liked more the nature around it, we could see small animals, we strolled along the main lawn and had a nice picnic (wooden tables in place)

This is a small royal palace placed in an absolutely gorgeus Castillian landscape. Only part of the palace can be visited because of refurbishing works, but the inner court and the stairway are worth visiting. Beautiful pastures and nature around the place.

Although it was a royal hunting lodge, calling This Madrid royal palace-mini-me a lodge is a bit of a strech
You will find It nestled in the Segovia woods , less than an hour by car from Madrid
This palace not only offers the usual fare of architectonic and artistic decoration grandness, it also features a very interesting hunting museum.
To top it all, entrance to the palace grants admission to the sorrounding park and woods. So bring your walking shoes for a royal treck
