You can't come to Capetown and not go up to Table mountain. The cable car gives you the first real sense of how high the mountain is. The trip up is fairly quick and the cabins rotate so everyone gets to see a variety of views. The walking tracks around the mountain are easy to use and there are many... More

Beautiful view of Cape Town. A must see and do. We booked tickets for the cablecar in advance but had to stand in line for 2 hours anyway. The guys working gave us the advise to go in the afternoon where most of the crowds are gone.

Highly commercialised - after all, the #1 thing to do in Cape Town on TripAdvisor - but 100% worth it. It's relatively easy to get to Table Mountain from Cape Town - we were using the hop-on, hop-off bus tour, on which this was a stop. There were long lines to get tickets, however, so the best thing to do... More

This is an iconic place you really must see while in Capetown. There are trails to hike or you can take the tram to the top of the mountain for some very incredible views. There are also some good vantage points right in Capetown from which to photograph the mountain.

Surely nobody could visit Cape Town and not go up Table Mountain. We booked a morning slot on the cable car beforehand online, kept a lookout for good weather and used the HOHO bus from the Waterfront.. To be standing on top of Table Mountain gazing down on Cape Town and beyond was magical. The one thing I will say... More

We went after 6pm and paid half price for the tickets. A great deal given that we got to see the daylight views and watched the sun going down - spectacular. I would highly recommend going at this time of day. When the sun set the sky turned red/orange over the water and blue/pink over the city. Be aware though... More

Best thing I have done in Cape Town. Amazing views and great experience, although it was crowded to go up and also to go down.

The view from the top of Table Mountain is spectacular. Word of advice - be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time. We purchased ours through the Hop On, Hop Off tour.

This was an incredible experience. You can go by cable car or walk up to the top. On top you can still have a fair walk across. the views all around are to die for
