Great hike that offers amazing view on the way up. It is steep, there arent many shadow on the way up, but once in the top, it can be very chilly and windy, so be prepared for everything :) But once you are in the...More

Incredibly rewarding hike to the top of Table Mountain. Most info recommended 2-2.5 hours but we did it in 1.5 hours. The path is clearly marked and easy to follow. The terrain is fairly steep and many of the steps (especially towards the top) are...More

We did the Platteklip Gorge hike in February and managed to choose a 38 degree day for it, which in hindsight wasn't the smartest decision. We started the hike about 7.15am and about 20 minutes later the sun kicked in with full heat. It took...More

The Platteklip Gorge hike is great, our kids (10 and 13) loved it too. We walked 1h45 to the top, taking a pauze after 2/3. We are fit but it is possible for everybody in a normal/good condition. Start early in summer, bring 1,5l water...More

My nieces and I decided to go hiking up Platteklip Gorge on a Sunday morning. This route is a winding route, where steps were carved out in the path. It has wired blocks for safety and caution has to be exercised as it has some...More

Don’t underestimate the steepness of this hike. It was hard work but plenty of shady spots to have a rest in. Take water with you. There is parking at the bottom on the road side. We got the cable car back down and then it’s...More

Not an easy walk with steep “steps” up the rocks in places. We are both fit and it took us about 2 hours. We also walked back down, which definitely impacts the knees. Stunning views from the top as expected.

A fantastic hike but definitely not for the faint of heart. It is sometimes billed as the "easiest" route - I'm not sure about that. Most direct, absolutely, but 3km of just stairs can be intense if you're not fit! We completed the whole trip...More

We hiked up Table Mountain via Platteklip Gorge. The route is well marked and well maintained. We did the climb in just under two hours. The route can become quite busy in December / January, so start you climb early to still have the cool...More
