This is an interesting site, so try to do a little background reading. It can be approached by car, though the road is winding and narrow, but better, in fine weather, to walk up the path from lower Gardenstown. The view is spectacular.

Views are great and the history of the site is palpable. Can be accessed by the beach on foot or by car.

Steep climb but worth it to inspect the old gravestones and take photos of the bay, Gardenstown and Crovie.

The pictures say it all - love the walk up though you can drive round and park up if it's too much from Gardenstown. Some very interesting gravestones to read

We climbed up here from the beach, and although a bit steep in places, it was well worth the effort. Interesting place, with some interesting gravestones, and fantastic views looking down on Gardenstown from here.

We walked up to the church from the beach. It's a bit of a climb with¿ a couple of steep drops. Worth it for the view down to Gardenstown and Crovie. Interesting old gravestones. ?

Slightly muddy in part walk to the Church from the car park. Worth the effort though, some interesting 'pirate' gravestones and great views across to Gardenstown which can also be walked to from the car park

We decided to go and visit the old "Kirk", the footpath left a bit to be desired, very narrow in sty least 3 places, you were left trying to hug the side of the path closest to the hill, not great when there are nettles...More

Good day out hiking to the old Kirk!!! About a 1.5 km walk up through the fields. Not too steep or boggy. Best views of Gardenstown and the history of the old Kirk is worth reading about!

You could take a sharp turn off the road above the ruins, it is signposted, but it is a tight space and I suggest walking up from beach.
