Great view and some more

I have been to this viewpoint next to the road many times and it is always a different scene, depending on the time of day or year, but each time exceptional! A few kilometers from this place is a waterfall and cascade complex Gvozdacka vrela over 300 meters long. Water all around you, check out the photos! Also, a few kilometers in the other direction are the remains of a water mill, to which the legend of the most famous Serbian vampire Sava Savanovic is linked, after which the first Serbian horror film "The Butterfly" was made in 1973. The vampire is a demon from Slovenian mythology and represents, most often the deceased, revived by an evil spirit, but he can also be a living person who feeds on someone else's life energy, mostly by drinking blood. The Austrian newspaper first wrote about it in the 18th century. They even sent experts to examine two cases of vampires in Serbia involving Petar Blagojevic and Pavle Arnaut. Thus, through Austria, the Serbian word vampire began to be used all over the world. It is the only Serbian word that has become international! Although the image of the vampire which exists around the world thanks to Bram Stoker's novel "Dracula" and the description of the original Slovenian vampire is quite different. There is not much left of the watermill itself, stone foundations and collapsed wooden walls with no roof. I recommend a visit around midnight! Ha-ha! I hope you find this comment helpful. If you need any help with this or any other attraction in Serbia (location information, transport, guide, arranging a private tour, etc.), please feel free to contact me because I do tours all over Serbia. Enjoy Serbia!

Google maps guides you to the right place nicely. My only concern was that the English equivalent was not found on maps, so I used the local spelling "Kapija Podrinja" and Google maps found it. There is space for parking and a large and new viewing platform has also been built. When we went there, unfortunately, the clouds were below us, so we couldn't see much.

Just when you think there is nothing more than road serpentines, Gate of Podrinje appears just behind the main road. Feel free to stop and enjoy the view! It doesn't have any shade by the way. But, when there is no car, you can feel that amazing silence. Try it!
