Not sure if we made the most of our visit. The receptionist, who was more interested in her phone than us, asked if we wanted tickets to 3 things or just the puppets. We were unclear as to the other 2 things (not sure if they were part of this museum or 2 others in the town) so opted only for the puppets. They were very good - it would have been nice to see them working. All the characters were explained - fortunately I can understand some Italian as there were no translations. This delightful little museum is a newcomer to Randazzo, just below the main part of the town. It focuses on the making of "pupi" or theatrical puppets (not marionettes). Basically the museum consists of one large room that showcases several of the pupi, a separate small display, and a room used for presentations. It is open in the mornings, closes at midday, and reopens in midafternoon. I suspect it was created mainly for school groups. We arrived during the closing time, but two staff members were there. They saw us, came outside, and welcomed us inside with a private tour. They spoke Italian slowly and clearly enough for us amateur Italian speakers to be able to converse. The director answered our many questions very thoughtfully. It was a short but lovely visit, and they even let us leave our car in their small lot while we walked up the hill to see the town.
