Bought this for a present for my dad and brother and they absolutely loved it! Meg was absolutely fantastic with incredible knowledge of all the birds she was handling and you could tell what passion she had in her job. Such an amazing experience that I can’t even describe it.

Went with my wife as a birthday present.
Certainly is a hands on experience over the course of the day, with a very good lunch.
Due to the concerns over bird flu our experience was limited to indoors and we were unable to see all at the centre. Which is perfectly understandable.
Meg our host was excellent, very knowledgeable and happy to answer all everyone's questions.
A excellent day out for all bird of prey enthusiasts.

My partner and I visited today for a full birds of experience day, we are currently on holiday and the only day we were able to attend was the Wednesday which they were fully booked. John called me back and stated he had moved things around so we were able to attend. We saw many birds, some of the averies were closed off to protect the birds from bird flu which we completely understood. Meg who was assisting us for the day was happy to answer any questions and was very kind, friendly and helpful. It was amazing how much knowledge she had. John was absolutely lovely, he sat with my partner and I and made us feel very comfortable. I would definitely recommend and we will be visiting again

A gift from my daughter for me and my partner. I have always had a love for birds of prey. So this was perfect. What an experience we had. From a proper friendly welcome which remained all through the day. Great lunch and well organised. The love and care shown to all the birds was second to none. Our day experience was amazing, the interaction with so many of the birds was so magical from feeding, flying, and learning about their now home life to their natural habitats. A big thank you to Meg, so much information and again so friendly and helpful throughout the day with us. Answered all the questions thrown at her from the lovely group we were with. Well done to John and the team at Yarak… thank you from Dave and Lorraine … ( Sat 30th )

I was given a voucher for the full day experience for my birthday. What a treat it was, I had an amazing day. Meg was brilliant, she was happy to answer all our questions & her passion for the birds & her job was obvious to see. My daughter accompanied me to take some photo's & she ended up enjoying it as much as me. Truly an unforgettable day, thank you to all at Yarak.

My partner and I have spent the day at Yarak! It is our third visit and we were not disappointed! After purchasing a gift voucher as a Christmas present for my partner it has become one of our favourite places to visit for a day out. It is a pretty site in the countryside, we’re you are made to feel very welcome from the moment you arrive. Meg was there to meet us today, she made us hot drinks and we chose our lunch from the menu, which was delicious, and reasonably priced! There was a group of ten of us and Meg took us to the large barn indoor area, due to the bird flu, the birds are unable to fly outside in the staffs great efforts to protect them and keep them safe.
We spent the morning with the owls, Dotty, Barley, Gimley and Tig, holding the birds and flying them. Meg was so knowledgeable, I honestly don’t know how she remembers all the facts, there was not a question she could not answer, and she made the interaction interesting and fun, filling in all the facts with little stories that revealed each birds personality and made it real and personal! After lunch, which was delicious and gave the group chance to have a chat and get to know each other a little we spent the afternoon with Meg and some more characters! There was Rufus, Freddie ,the barn owl, Mia, the eagle, Millie the Kestrel, Bruno the Harrier Hawk-and Smudge! Meg told us their stories and gave everyone the opportunity to get close to the birds. John, the owner treats the birds like family members, some have been hand reared and it is obvious how much John and the staff care about each one. We had the best day ever, I can’t recommend this beautiful gem in the country side enough, you will not regret spending a day here, you will learn so much about these beautiful creatures, and a special shout out to Meg who looked after us all so well! We will be back!

Well .
After several delays ( delays our end not Yarak ) stretching back to April ( my Birthday ) My wife and I finally got to yarak Birds of Prey .
I can honestly say it was worth the wait .-
The experience was fantastic .
The staff were very knowledgeable , professional and friendly .
Megan was in charge of us for our all day experience .
She knew the answers to any questions .
She also added a couple of interesting / amusing anecdotes .
What we particularly liked and totally agreed with , is the fact that the welfare of the birds is the NUMBER ONE PRIORITY .
This is made perfectly clear as soon as you get to the reception .
The cafe is very nice , with really nice food and drinks and is excellent value .
We adopted an Owl called smudge .
We would just like to take this opportunity to thank John and his Team ( and the Birds 🦅 of course )
For providing us with an unforgettable day .
We will definitely be back .

We booked a day experience, and it was wonderful from start to finish and was worth every penny. We held all sorts of birds from a very, very cute Indian Scops Owl (Dottie) to an absolutely beautiful Chilean Blue Eagle (Mia) We had several Owls and a Harris Hawk fly onto our Gloves for food and were given all the time we needed for photos and to have a long look at the birds. They were awe inspiring. Due to Avian Flu we were restricted to inside flying, but that just meant we were more up close and personal with the birds.
Staff were all courteous, lunch was great.
Megan was very informative and answered all the questions fired at her.
It is so good to know these birds are treated so well and that their well-being is top priority.
We will definitely be returning for another experience day, and would recommend Yarak as an experience to anyone.

Can I bring my dog
Mark Harrison

Kay, you may be right that some of the birds have been through a stressful experience to get here, but I think adding more potential stress was not a plan. The team here were very accommodating with Sam our Lab. Offering water if we needed it for him and we could go out to the car as often as we needed to. They also suggested a place in the car park that was shaded for him. You have to decided for your dog, but Sam was fine, we went out to him twice and I walked him round the car park once.

My almost 5 year old son is mad about birds of prey and keen to learn more. I'm guessing none of the experiences are suitable for children? Is there anything that a child could take part in/come and see?

Hi, he is a bit young to do one of the experiences.
You can however come in as a visitor on admission and get right up close to the birds as we fly them.
If we visit the centre will we be able to hold the birds or is this at extra cost ?

We are not open for public visitor access.
All experiences are by appointment only.

My partner is disabled and walks with a crutch is there any wheelchair facilities available and how do we get to you by public transport from Exeter, Devon

Hi, we do have wheelchair users come to yarak.
We don't keep wheelchairs here.
Regarding the public transport I believe a bus does come along the b3181 but doesn't come up to Langford where Yarak is based.
