The Harry Potter Bridge! Attention: if you go by car you can park on 2 locations just near each other. One is for 2GBP & a cafe; the other is free but limited. If you want to go nearby the bridge you need to go via the free parking and follow the road. Nice to see the steam train going... More

Reasonably short drive out from Fort William to catch this pretty spot If you can time it morning or afternoon with the jacobe steam train would be tops

Had to visit the viaduct made more famous by a certain Harry Potter. Spectacular views up a short path just behind the cafe. It is possible to see a steam train at certain times (10.45) roughly. Departures can be checked at Fort William railway station. Small charge for parking but plenty available. Gift shop has quite a range of items.

We were able to see the viaduct for the first time from the Jacobite Steam train travelling from Fort William to Maillag. We came back in order to take pictures of the Jacobite crossing the viaduct. The best place to take pictures is from the Glenfinnan`s visitor's center which is situtated between the Glenfinnan monument and the viaduct and behind... More

The Jacobite train has been running for far longer than the Potter books, but the story certainly adds to its charm. Little climb to the view point and then you can imagine yourself travelling to Hogwarts. Do visit the charming little museum too.

Unfortunately, we just passed the viaduct with the steam train, therefore we couldn't enjoy the view for longer. In any case, the viaduct is quite impressive, as well as the view from there. I have to thank the Harry Potter movies for making me aware of such a place. Beautiful.
