The place is interesting to see for a 1h visit, which is exactly the duration of the guided tour. Be aware that tour might be given either in french or german (or a mix of both), For English speakers it is highly recommended to ask for a short summary written in English (speciality because of the technicality of the names)

This is my second visit. My first was in 2001 when you still put film in cameras! As it would happen, the role of film I used here didn't expose properly so I'm back again, armed with a digital this time. The museum has been developed since my last visit and they've done a nice job. They didn't have an... More

A natural cave with watermills. In ancient times the mills were used to grind wheat, nuts and textile fibers. It inspired visitor H.C. Andersen.

This is a really stunning experience. We had a fantastic guide (Klaus, I believe to remember) who led us through these amazing caves and told us actually everything there needs to be told about the history of this truly amazing place, absolutely unique in Europe and maybe even in the World. The tour is absolutely safe, small children should be... More

A very helpful and friendly staff. We were unable to join a "live" tour as it was not available in English but to be honest the self paced audio tour (which is available in English) was excellent and informative. Worth a visit if you like caves or the history of industrialization. A little out of the way and quite a... More

A fascinating and informative museum about using hydroelectric power beginning in the 17th century. Dress warmly for it gets cold in the lower levels.

This was a great experience. For the entry price you can either go on a guided tour (in french and German) or have an audio guide. We took the excellent guided tour. Do wear good shoes and wear warm clothes as its cold and wet inside. There are also lots of steps.

This is a most remarkable facility with a fascinating history that goes back to the 17th century. One is filled with admiration for the courage and ingenuity of the people who constructed and operated it so long ago, working with oil lamps and primitive tools alongside a raging torrent deep underground. And bravo for the local group of volunteers who... More

I am very interested in caves, I am very interested in mills, I have seen a lot of them in different countries, but here it is an unreal combination of both of hem I never expected to exist! Wonderful guided tour with a charming old man speaking French and explaining me everything I missed from the story. It's worth it... More
