Decided to support the zoo as soon as it reopened. Unfortunately due to weather and covid only a few animals were visible. Probably saw around 20 animals out of 500! Waste of time and fuel, hefty bill for eating fish and chips in the cold, and thoroughly disappointed grandson. Can't blame the zoo for conditions, but quite frankly they should not have opened if less than 5% of the animals were viewable. Only on-site 1 hour. Pointed this out to the zoo and expected vouchers to return in summer when restrictions are lifted and the weather better. Basically told to get lost, that I should have expected no animals and should not have even complained. They have lost a customer and their reputation. Appalling lack of customer service and short-sighted attitude,

Pre-Xmas event - quite awefull. We are loyal members and normally we quite like going out there with the kids (they are OK, my rating would normally be 3-4 stars) but they completely failed in COVID measures. People queued for their xmas take away food, creating 30min queues, no signs on the floor, mixing incoming, leaving visitors and this queue in a narrow corridor between soft play and souvenir shop (hardly 1.5m). People sometimes not wearing masks and staff not even approaching them... Santa took off his shield, I guess he was too hot? I went to the customers services and complained I don't feel safe, returned the tickets (didnt even go further with the kids) and was told to send in an email to some manager for refund. Few days later for a reply, that I knew the tickets were non-refundable when I booked it and they dont see any reason for refund. So that's £80 gone... I did send them some money during first lockdown to support them so I guess i can take this as an involuntary support... but surely will be the last support they will see from me.

Wanted to go for a family day on Boxing Day, and cost over £100 for 4 adults and 1 15 year old. Hardly saw a thing and had to drag out the 2 hours we spent there. Appreciate there have had to be changes but feel that some of the wall through houses could be open or the price should be reduced to reflect this or offer a second return for half price maybe. Would encourage more people to return or even go in first place. Just felt we had no value for money. No staff to interact with, those we saw chatting to each other, no greeting to any of us. Not even a welcome by the young lady on ticket booth. Just have you got your reservation number. Sad as really wanted to support the zoo in these tough times.

I visited between Christmas and new year, a very cold day and fairly quiet but enough people around to have an atmosphere Not so many animals out or able to be viewed tho due to CV and perhaps the cold! Always lovely to visit and see my favourite animals especially the big cats - fortunately I saw all of these

£74 for 4 of us. Hardly saw a thing. I’m not sure why they are open. It was freezing so all of the animals stayed in their houses but we couldn’t go in because of Tier 3 restrictions. We didn’t see any monkeys, no rhinos, no zebras, no giraffes... the list goes on! Save your money and wait for the tiers to be lifted.
