Twycross Zoo is renowned as a specialist primate zoo and has a wide variety of monkeys and apes including the UK's only group of bonobos. We have breeding groups of many endangered primate species so we often have babies and toddlers playing around in our orang utan and bonobo groups, and in many of our monkey groups. Set in more than 80-acres, we have around 900 animals of more than 160 species to see, including many native species in the Zoo's Nature Reserve. You can walk with our ring-tailed lemurs in their new walk-through enclosure; see our giant tortoises sunbathing in their new grass area and watch our penguins take their daily walk. Our keepers present regular talks and feeds where you can learn a bit more about some of our animals such as the chimpanzees, penguins and meerkats. Twycross Zoo's award winning Education Department offers a variety of discovery opportunities for many different types of groups and parties. The Zoo holds the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge, all sessions are curriculum linked and all are designed to best engage all age groups.

We come every week after school to the soft play with the children we noticed that they are having alterations done to the eating area. They have restricted brands of what's on sale and also when ask if they did a child's cordarol we was told no but we could by it by the jug. Seems like we may be... More

Took a group of disabled children as we were reading the story Dear Zoo. Went to see the elephants, giraffes and monkeys. They loved the noise from the monkeys. We were having a great time until it was lunchtime. The building we were in for lunch was awful, it was dirty and cold (it was December). There wasn't any hand... More

2 adults and 2 children cost 56 pound online.Weather was raining all the time we were there.Giraffes, zebras and monkeys were our favourites. The pathways were a bit muddy and puddles everywhere. But we still enjoyed it.Would have been better had it not been raining.

Have been coming here for 18 years at this time of year, although missed last year, but this gave a better experience as there was a new 'Explorer' area with really good access to the gibbons climbing areas and indoor areas. Giraffes have got a whopping new enclosure (compared to previous on) which gave them the chance to have a... More

We went on a Thursday in early January. There were very few visitors so it was easy to get about and see the animals. Strangely enough having fewer visitors seemed to make the animals more curious and active when you went to see them. We had lunch in the chippy and the food was lovely. Twycross is a great zoo... I visit the zoo quite regularly and I have to say it is pretty good. It has a diverse range of animals which appear well looked after. The soft play is good and clean. The staff who work on it are superb, who seem consistently warm and friendly. My only gripe is the restaurant..... it seems tired and a little... More

My young family and I visited this zoo today and for two adults and a 3 year old, it cost £51 to gain entry & a further £4.50 to access the soft play area (not including additional costs of hot drinks & cake in the visitor centre). The quality of the attractions was good although I'm not sure whether an... More

Believe it or not , I was 53 on the 28th December. I like to go to different attractions for my birthday, so this year my husband took me to Twycross Zoo. Wow! I loved it. We entered through a really welcoming building , that housed one of the resturants, a play area and gift shop. All this and we... More

As it was our last day of spending quality time with each other, myself and my partner decided to come here as means to relax and enjoy. As the Zoo points out, they have a wide variety of different species of monkeys - as my partner's favourite being the gorillas. :-D And I myself enjoyed seeing the cat family i.e.... More
