- Jacqui C1 contributionVery interesting and lots to doWhat a delightful place Folly Farm is. Something for everyone. We had two fabulous days there. First day seeing all the animals and a ride on the tractor train. Second day we brought wristbands and spent a very rainy day on the historic fairground rides. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. Lovely meal in the restaurant which we thought was reasonable priced. We had two very enjoyable days . Thank youThank you for your review and for your lovely feedback. It's wonderful to hear you enjoyed two days out with us, and that you explored different areas during each visit. Sounds like you and your family had some great fun - despite the rainy weather. I'm pleased you felt the staff were helpful and friendly and that you enjoyed your meals at the Hungry Farmer restaurant. We hope to welcome you to the park again very soon. - Neil Walsh4 contributionsGreat time again. As usual folly farms animals and attractions are amazing. Recently we have stayed the Folly farm campsite, this is our 3rd visit to the campsite and I had a problem with the caravan charging our leisure battery, I asked one of the staff if I could borrow a 12 volt battery charger, which they did. Problem sorted, thank you again staff at Folly farm. Diolch Neil Walsh. So pleased you had an enjoyable stay with us at our Holiday Park and that the staff there were able to provide assistance with your battery charger. I'm pleased you also enjoyed plenty of fun at the attraction and hope you're able to visit us again soon. - Philip ThonemannLondon, United Kingdom49 contributionsVery good zoo and entertainmentsEntry is quite pricy, but the zoo area is really very good, well-maintained, and very nicely presented. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the animals. The adventure play area was also good. We had fun driving the cars round a track, the big wheel, a spinning thing, and the Big Dig, which is surely quite unusual. Lunch was fine. Loads of toilets. Highly recommended?Thank you for your lovely review - I'm so pleased you enjoyed your visit and felt the array of activities were good value and of high quality. It sounds like you certainly had fun at our rides in particular. We really appreciate you recommending us to other travellers and we hope to see you again soon. - Han899 contributionsGreat day outReally enjoyed our day, despite the weather. Highlights were the lions, penguins and giraffes! Only criticism is the lack of milk alternatives (soya/oat etc) - only available in one of the cafes (not sure why?!) so you have to trek back to the cafe by the entrance for a cuppa!Thank you for your review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your day with us - especially our amazing animals! Thank you for the feedback regarding alternative milk options. As mentioned, we have some available in our Cwtch Coffee Shop - but I will check with the team regarding our other outlets. Thank you for your feedback. - MichelleWarwickshire, United Kingdom166 contributionsAmazing place - cannot wait to visit againAbsolutely loved Folly Farm. Everything about this place is fabulous. There are so many animals both farm and zoo and loads of outdoor and indoor play areas including an amazing soft play and fair ground. The facilities are excellent with lots of indoor picnic areas, baby changing, hand washing, toilets etc through out. We had lunch in one of the restaurants and it was very tasty and well priced. My 18 month old had the best time - so much so that we used our day ticket to return for a second day that week for free which also made it excellent value. We cannot wait to return again. This place is definitely on our ‘must visit’ list when next in Wales!Thank you so much for your glowing review. I'm delighted you enjoyed your day with us and that you were so impressed with our array of animals and attractions as well as our plentiful facilities. I'm pleased you enjoyed a tasty meal and felt we offered great value for money. It's wonderful to know that you enjoyed yourself enough to make the most of our free return ticket offer and we really appreciate you taking the time to post on Trip Advisor. - ClaireJL123Hereford, United Kingdom12 contributionsWe love folly farm!We have stayed twice at folly farm, once in the showground lodge and also the Simba lodge. We will hopefully book to come again this year too - returning a 3rd time speaks for itself! The accommodation is well equipped, comfortable and has everything you need, with the added touch of a lovely welcome hamper. My only negative is that you cannot adjust the hot tub temperature yourself, the first time we came I was pregnant so was unable to use it as I couldn't lower the temp by a couple of degrees or see what the temperature was. Folly farm itself is amazing! You get a pass to folly farm for the duration of your stay - we used this every day! Even if it was just for an hour or 2 in the afternoon to use the soft play. The animals are all very well looked after. I booked for my husband to do the lion feed experience which he enjoyed. As a family with young children who visit Tenby every year it makes sense for us to stay at Folly farm as with the entrance fee, food and park rides I can imagine it would be a very expensive day out. We cannot wait to visit again!Thank you for your review - and thanks so much for staying with us twice in our Holiday Park. It's so rewarding to hear how much you enjoyed your stays with us and the little touches in place to make your stay enjoyable. I'm also pleased to hear you made the most out of your unlimited visits to our attraction during your stay and that your husband got to take part in one of our lion feeding experiences. I hope he enjoyed getting so close to our pride! Thank you for your feedback regarding our hot tubs - we always have someone on hand to check these daily for our guests and they would have been happy to adjust the temperature for you if requested - but I'll certainly pass on your feedback for review. Thank you again for taking the time to post a review and we hope to see you again soon. They are well priced and a lot of fun. The animals are friendly and quite funny haha! The staff are lovely and wonderful aswell. The food was lovely and we only had to wait 5 minutes! Thank you for a lovely day out folly farm.Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review following your visit to us. I'm delighted to hear you had such a fun-filled day. It's great you felt the prices were reasonable and that you enjoyed meeting our array of funny characters on the farm and zoo - they certainly keep us entertained! - LauragearyNeath, United Kingdom275 contributionsExpensive, but good (if not raining!)Such a wonderful place but the prices just keep going up and up. Nearly £100 for a family of 4, and then additional £50 if you want the rides wristbands (otherwise rides are £1 or £2)....frustrating that if parents have to ride (their rules) then they have to pay- seems pretty unfair. Really rude girl on the horse carousel (sat 17th Feb. 1pm).... Rides on rotation, again in quieter times thos is understandable but 1 staff between 3 rides meant we waited nearly 20mins just for a quick donkey ride. The new African area is nice, unfortunately for us it was a very very wet day so many animals were inside (obviously can't be helped) and all the play areas were soaking so definitely value for money on a rainy day. Expensive coffee......food is pricey but we picnic as there's no way I'd pay those prices. Lovely new tractor ride where kids over 1m cam ride alone- definitely the highlight of the day. We also stayed on the FF campsite which was lovely- however they need to link and get a little offer going. Only when nipping to the toilets did we see the 'return for a trip within 7 days' which felt like they've hidden the offer rather than promoting it.Thank you for your review. I'm pleased that overall you had an enjoyable stay with us - although naturally I'm sorry to read some of your other comments and appreciate the opportunity to respond. Firstly - you mention you stayed with us on our Holiday Park. I'm glad you thought the site was lovely - but with regards to your comments regarding linking up with the attraction - please be assured that we definitely already do this. We advertise quite heavily on our website as well as on our welcome pack which you were emailed - that as a Holiday Park guest staying on our touring park, you only have to pay to visit the attraction once - and then you can receive unlimited entry for the duration of your stay with us. We are certainly not hiding this offer - it is in the first paragraph on the website under the touring park information - and would have been reiterated in the booking process where you had the opportunity to add park tickets to your booking, and again in your welcome pack. I'm sure you can appreciate there's only so much we can do to ensure we are communicating the relevant information - and we do have to rely on the good grace of our guests to ensure they have read the information given to them. The seven day return offer you saw on the poster in the toilets is for day guests visiting the attraction. They're able to visit the attraction again within seven days for free provided they get their ticket validated by staff before leaving the park on the first day of visit. Again - this is advertised throughout the park - on toilet door posters as well as park signage leading up to the gift shop and exit - as well as on the admission booths prior to exiting the park and on our website and brochure. It wouldn't be in our benefit to hide any offers so I'm confused with your suggestion of this. I am sorry you were disappointed with the cost of our rides - but please note that wristbands are completely optional with many commenting on how much there is to enjoy without even using the rides. You can either pay as you go using ride tokens which are just £1 per token - with rides costing 1-2 tokens each (significantly cheaper than travelling fairs). Or - for those that want to make full use of the rides, wristbands are another option where you pay just once and enjoy unlimited rides at a fixed rate. The fact that guests should check height restrictions for children and consider that parents need to accompany them on the rides in some cases is again advertised clearly prior to purchasing them. And again - there is also a discount on ride wristbands for Holiday Park guests which is a significant saving of 50% - so again I'm surprised to hear you feel we're not providing value for money. Most comments we receive praise what great value we are - especially as a Holiday Park Guest, where rides and park entry is a significant perk! I am however very sorry that you received poor service at one of our rides - and will be sure to pass on your feedback to the relevant managers for review. As you've mentioned - during quieter periods, our rides tend to run on rotation which is commonplace for attractions - but I am sorry you were disappointed with this. Thank you again for your feedback and I hope I can assure you of our very best intentions at all times. We visited while on holiday in Parkdean Holiday Park. Me, my partner and my 1 year old.
We had to purchase our tickets online and then book a place for the day we wanted to attend. You receive an email of them both which you are asked to show on arrival.
We arrived to sign posts to park 2m's away from the next car which was absolutely fine, there was enough space to do so. Except some cars obviously didn't follow the rules and we had someone park right next to us!.
Entrance was split into distanced rows to keep customers apart, the queues went down fast because there is a limit on how many people can attend the farm.
Everything is one way system, even through the animals like the barn and the penguins.
My daughter absolutely loved the barn animals, the fence's are low enough for my daughter to be able to see all the animals while sat in her pushchair. There's nothing worse than lifting her up constantly to see the animals so this was fantastic and well thought out!
All of the animals look happy and well looked after, staff were around a lot to check on them and to check the distancing rules were being followed. Hand sanitiser was everywhere and everything was being cleaned.
The indoor play area was amazing, super big and again a one way system. The tables are spread out so you're 2m's away from the next table. I had a slight concern that my 1 year old wasn't allowed in the little 2 years+ softplay bit but allowed in the bigger one designed for under 5's. The under 5's big play area has a big, red, circle slide which she was far too small to go down and i wouldn't of fit down with her.
The vintage arcade was super fun, we did a few rides which were great especially when you have a young toddler, there usually isn't much you can do with them but she enjoyed the mini waltzers!
You can also exchange your tokens at the shop if you don't spend them all.
We did the tractor ride at the end of the day, the last one is at 3.30pm! The lady who drove us around was brilliant, told us all about the animals and little stories about them.
We throughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely visit again!

We booked a short break to Folly Farm caravan site, the price was right and we wanted to take the caravan away at least once this year. We paid once to get into folly fam and then could go back an for all week as much as we wanted which was amazing for the children. The caravan site exceeded our expectations by miles. The pitches are the biggest we have ever seen, all hardstanding, all fully serviced with water, waste, electric, TV ariel and free wifi. We reversed the caravan onto the pitch and was able to leave the car in front of the van to and still be on the pitch. The warden Lewis was such a lovely man and he and his wife couldn't do enough to help us. We didn't have a waste water pipe and he just went and got one for us. The site was immaculately clean, the toilet block was one of the best we've seen and had alcohol gel at the entrance and exit. We did stay at this site in the worst possible week of August and had storm Frances to battle with but we still had a great time and suppose it added to the adventure. Folly Farm was also great. The one way systems, the hand gel at every entrance and exit made you feel safer even during this uncertain time. Will definatley be going back. We also took two teenagers with us and they also enjoyed so fun for the whole family.

Thank you so much for your review following a recent stay in our new Holiday Park. I'm delighted you enjoyed your experience with us and that we exceeded your expectations with all aspects of your stay. To our immaculate holiday site, to our friendly wardens and brand new, clean facilities. I'm also delighted you enjoyed your time with during your visits to the park itself and felt happy with our safety measures.
And to top it all off - you had this much fun when we had some very questionable weather - which is just a joy to hear! These are very challenging times for most businesses at the moment - so to receive such praise is very much appreciated - thank you.

We visit every year and are never disappointed. I used Tesco vouchers to pay for admission as it is quite expensive. My little one loves looking at the animals both in the barn and the zoo. We enjoyed a tractor and trailer ride which was free. The parks that are there to play in are brilliant with a big variety, only negative about them they are quite big with a few entrances and exits and it is difficult to watch your children when they are playing, my son loves them though. He also enjoyed the pedal tractors. The indoor fairground was closed due to covid 19 (I was secretly glad as I always spend a bomb in there). My son enjoyed the go karts and diggers, we didn't go on the big wheel as the queue was long. The diggers were being cleaned theroughly after every use. We had food from the burger place by the soft play area, was very nice, quite expensive as is usual in these kinds of places. Plenty of snack outlets around the place. You have to leave via the gift shop, it is a really lovely shop selling all sorts of things from toys to household items. Will definately be returning for another day out.

Thank you for your review. I'm so pleased you always enjoy your days with us and that it was no different on your most recent visit - despite a few changes operationally due to Covid.
I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed our animals and Land Train ride and that you felt reassured with our safety measures in place with the heightened cleaning regimes after every ride cycle.
I'm also happy you enjoyed your burger meals. Please note that since your last visit, our fair is now open again and we have implemented a one way system as well as a reduced capacity and plenty of hand sanitising stations throughout to ensure our guests safety. We also have just one entrance and exit point at our outdoor playgrounds.
Thank you again and we hope to welcome you back soon.

There was literally nothing to see or do, it was pouring with rain and most of the attractions were close due to covid. We saw hardly any animals as they were all sheltering from the rain and the only place to go was the shop which quickly filled up. We have been before and had a great time but this time we only stayed for less than an hour and then went because the area got too crowded and wasnt safe. I would certainly not recommend going there when it is wet as there is literally nothing to do and it was a complete waste of money.

Thank you for posting a review - although naturally I'm saddened you felt so disappointed with your day. I must say that this is in stark contrast to the majority of other reviews we receive praising our re-opening efforts and how much there is to see and do on a day out with us.
Firstly, I find it very strange that you felt there was 'literally nothing to do'. Even in these strange times, we have had many attractions open and have been very clear from before re-opening as to what to expect from your day with us - so it seems strange that you were not aware of this prior to visiting us. Attractions and businesses everywhere have been affected greatly by the pandemic and have had to adapt in order to operate again safely - it is certainly not unique to us at Folly Farm and it is unfair to penalise us for having restrictions that are put in place for the safety of our staff and guests.
We have simply followed government guidance with regards to opening different areas of our park safely and in accordance to the restrictions in Wales. With different sectors opening at different times - this has meant that various areas of the park opened at different times - however we still reopened with our impressive zoo and barn areas available, housing over 90 different species of animal. We then opened our outside rides, followed by our outdoor play areas, indoor fair and now our indoor play areas, soft play and restaurant have also re-opened and although some areas are operating differently - all areas are now open and have been for at least a couple of weeks.
We have all been working extremely hard in very challenging circumstances to ensure we have gone above and beyond government guidance to ensure guests are kept safe but still have a fun day out with us. We have installed numerous measures including limiting numbers so we are nowhere near as busy as we would be on a normal day in the summer holidays, which is still having a huge financial impact on the business after already losing so much over lockdown. We have installed a huge number of signs, barriers, one way systems, hand sanitising stations, safety barriers and have increased cleaning regimes and man busier areas such as the fair indoor play areas and gift shop to ensure numbers are limited so social distancing can be maintained so I'm sorry you felt some areas were too busy.
I'm sure you can appreciate that what is usually our strength in having so much to offer that is undercover as well as outdoors, has been challenging in terms of our re-opening measures. Naturally during wet weather days, guests will look to seek shelter in the indoor attractions and we do everything we can to make guests comfortable such as moving queues inside where possible, etc. But we have to be responsible and have some control over how busy these areas are. We aren't limiting numbers here to inconvenience you or make your experience unpleasant - these measures are in place for your safety.
Please also be assured that the majority of our farm animals are located in our barn which is undercover, but all animals in the zoo also have access to indoor areas of their enclosures and can come and go as they please. But the majority of animals can still be viewed even if they choose to be inside - due to their being viewing windows available.
We are quite clear with our advice during wet weather days and ask guests to be as prepared as possible. This includes having a dedicated page on our website as well as regular forecast posts on our social media pages.
It's disheartening to see that as well as publishing a two star review on Trip Advisor, you have also posted a one star review just before it - which, when we're already working in such challenging circumstances already, is a bit of a blow! We have actually reported this other review, as although we are happy to receive comments, both positive and negative so we can review our offering and make amends where necessary - we feel this is a bit unfair as it affects our overall star rating and goes against Trip Advisor regulations.
Assuring you of our best intentions at all times.
Kind regards

This place has it all! I had fond memories of visiting as a kid but I don't think it was half as cool as now, no zoo then! We live near a safari park and have to say some of the animals were kept in better conditions there as the park near us, clearly they do invest in good facilities such as the penguin pool equipment and it was noticable. Great views of the lions. The farm area was also immaculate, I have never seen a farm park look so clean and I have been to lots! The playground with the Jolly Roger boat and the combine harvesters and tractors was awesome, again best adventure playground we've ever seen. The indoor vintage fair was a treat and the rides have been lovingly restored to their former glory, long time since I have seen a cake walk like that! We went on the big wheel (bit foggy for a view unfortunately!) The go karts and the diggers which were so much fun. My son was in love with the mini train and the carousel, we probably spent another £10 in the fair and on the rides. The tractor ride was free and very informative. All in all a fantastic full day of entertainment. We did spend quite a lot but we got the entrance price on Tesco club card points so it was 'free', so happy they were in the scheme. Felt it was value for money as there is so much quality entertainment on offer particularly for our sons age (3). They should think about a themed hotel/self catering on site because actually there is almost too much to do in one day! Think we did see a campsite. We'll be back if we are out this way again!

Thank you very much for your lovely comments. It sounds like you enjoyed a fun-filled day with us and I'm glad you were so impressed with how much there is to see and do on a day out with us.
We certainly have lots to explore and have developed significantly over the years, so it's great to hear you enjoyed your visit.
Our animals are at the heart of what we do so it's always a pleasure to receive such heartwarming praise regarding their well being - so thank you. And our team work very hard in ensuring the highest standards are delivered at all times - so again it's very rewarding to receive such great feedback on how clean and well maintained the site is.
We do also have accommodation now available at Folly Farm - with the addition of our brand new Holiday Park which opened in July. To state from the outset, Follys Farm is good at what it does and our kids of 5 and 7 did have a good time. Park generally well kept - a bit tired in places but favourable comparisons to most similar places we have been.
Broadly, it is a park with lots of outdoor playgrounds; a very good indoor play area; some indoor vintage fairground rides; a couple of outdoor rides, plus ferris wheel; and a small / medium sized zoo with a few A list animals (lions, giraffe, penguin enclosure); and some farmyard animals.
On meeting the description of a good family day out, I'd give it 4 or 5 stars, but felt obliged to review at 3 stars as consider it to be significantly overpriced. It is £75 entry for a family of 4. Entry only, no rides at all. Let that sink in. £75 for some playgrounds and an average zoo. Quite what adults are paying £20 a pop for I'm unclear. Every single ride is monetised, and as adults have to accompany young children at £1 per ride, it is £4 a pop. 5 rides takes the day out to effectively £100. And if anyone has ever been to a funfair with kids, they just want to go from one ride to another. Factor in food and a visit to gift shop it is a £150+ day out and that is grossly overpriced for what it is. That is theme park prices, and not a roller coaster in sight. Living in Devon, equivelent venues are 30-40% cheaper with advance booking incentives. Pembrokeshire does seem overpriced in general, to be fair. But felt like the whole experience was about maximising profit to the detriment of the consumer.
Don't think it is justified and we were left feeling really short changed. I'm sure the PR guys will respond with the usual value for money response, but I'm sorry it is not affordable or value for money.

Thank you for your review – I’m pleased to hear you had a good day with us on the whole and that you primarily enjoyed the play areas.
I’m disappointed however to read your comments regarding prices and value for money and am sorry to read you felt we were overpriced. I’m also slightly conflicted as to how to respond to your review, as you have already dismissed wanting a response based on how we feel we’re good value for money.
I’m sure you can appreciate however that we would naturally want to answer any concerns a guest may have and put forward our response to any negative feedback posted on a public review platform – not only in the hope we can assure you - but for the benefit of other travellers who may be reading this review so they can make an informed decision prior to visiting us.
Firstly – I’m sorry you felt we were overpriced. The majority of our reviews actually praise what great value for money we are considering everything there is to see and do on a day out with us. We are essentially four attractions in one – with our zoo, barn, fair and array of play areas. Many comment that we’re at least a full day out. We would confidently argue that there are not many attractions that offer a full family day out for four people for under £80 – so yes, we do feel we represent excellent value for money. We have over 100 species of animals on the zoo alone which includes some very rare and impressive animals such as the Eastern Black rhino, giraffes, penguins, African lion, bongo, sloths and many more. We were listed in the top 10 zoos in the world according to Trip Advisor in recent years, we are members of BIAZA (The British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums) and EAZA (The European Association of Zoos and Aquaria) who have strict guidelines for their members to adhere to – and we receive regular praise from other zoo professionals regarding our enclosures, animals and interpretation. We are part of 36 breeding programmes, support several conservation charities and continuously invest in our attraction. We are continuously updating enclosures or adding new exhibits - but I’m sorry you seemed somewhat underwhelmed with this area.
Our farm houses numerous farmyard favourites – and we also have a piggery and Land Train tractor ride that travels around the rare breed paddocks. As you’ve already mentioned, we have an array of themed indoor and outdoor adventure play areas. All of the above attractions are included in the entry prices – it is only the rides you need to pay extra for. The reason we charge separately for the rides is two-fold. Firstly – many of our guests are too young or too small to make full use of the rides – and many are happy to explore other areas of the park and avoid the rides altogether – so it would be unfair to charge everyone for this. We review our admission price annually and we always keep them as reasonable as possible for all guests – and give guests the option to budget how much extra they spend on the rides should they wish to use them. If rides were included in the admission rates – it would increase the entry rates for everyone due to the increase in staffing and operation costs – and queue times at rides would be similar to those more often associated with theme parks, which would lead to frustrated guests. We therefore operate the token system – and at 50p per token and the majority of rides costing 1-2 tokens per person – we feel this does indeed offer good value for money when you compare to other travelling fairs that can charge upwards of £4 per person, per ride.
Folly Farm is primarily aimed towards children and families and we communicate our prices and attractions clearly across our website and social media platforms and advertising communications prior to visiting us. We receive feedback from many families who comment that there is something to suit all ages at the park – including adults and teens who tend to enjoy the animals and rides in particular. It is pretty standard practice in family attractions to charge adults entry rates as well as the children – but I’m sorry you feel the rate for adults is unjustified.
Our food outlets and gift shop also have regular reviews and prices are always set in line with other similar attractions. Again, prices are clearly advertised prior to guests purchasing any products. It is not compulsory to visit our gift shop and we allow guests to bring in their own picnics should they prefer – but again I’m sure you can appreciate it is out of our control how much guests choose to spend in these areas when visiting us.
After what has been an extremely difficult and challenging 18 months or so with numerous park closures, all the while having continuous monthly outgoings with the care and feeding of our animals and us operating with limited capacity since re-opening - it is not viable as a business to offer any promotions or discounts at this time. We have been working extremely hard in simply ensuring the business survives and continues to flourish.
Thank you again for your feedback – and I hope my response goes some way in helping explaining our pricing.
Kind regards

Booked up for a 5 day break and was 50/50 about going to folly farms under the current circumstances. The Animal attractions were all fabulous. The remaining was at best poorly managed. Only 2 food venues open at peak times for lunch with 3 staff serving at the main dining hall meant a 45 minute queue to get food. Queue to get on the carousel was 30 minutes. You had one staff member, operating, loading up, unloading and sanitising each gondola. Go karts had one operator, no social distancing and no reminding to sanitise hand before entering the go kart area, steering wheels and karts were not sanitised between each use. The tractor ride around the farm was on the notice board departing every 20 mins. What it didn’t say was that you had not done anything to manage the additional capacity issue you would have with being able to only take 1/5th of the capacity resulting in long queues and frustrated customers. The day Previous to this we had attended another local attraction Heatherton which was completely on point. Two staff members operating every activity to allow for a speedy safe operation. I am assuming that as this was the first week back in operation that it was a trial to see if the staff numbers were sufficient and hopefully noticing the queues, changes can be made to allow for a more pleasant experience while maintaining a safe environment.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I'm pleased you feel our animals and attractions were impressive - although I'm obviously saddened to read your comments regarding other aspects of your day with us and that you felt we were 'poorly managed'.
Your feedback is in stark contrast to the majority of other reviews and messages we have received - praising us on how good our safety measures are and how well organised our operation is - so I am sorry you did not agree with this.
Firstly - we are certainly working in very challenging circumstances at the moment, and re-opening of the park with different guidance from different sectors and areas opening at different times, has not been easy. But we are doing and continue to do everything we can regarding offering our guests a safe but fun-filled day out. Times are very different now for all businesses and we continue to face many challenges.
We are currently operating on what is around a third of our usual capacity for a summers day in the school holidays - and our staffing is based on guest numbers. Our fair rides and go karts, etc. do not require more than one member of staff to operate them based on current capacity - and you do have to bear in mind that our staff also have to operate whilst adhering to social distancing measures and cannot work in close proximity to another member of staff.
There is inevitably going to be slightly longer waits wherever you go due to the social distancing rules and heightened cleaning regimes that companies have to follow and implement - this is not unique to Folly Farm and is very much the new normal in many visitor attractions now. Our priority is being as cautious as possible and ensuring the safety of our guests by cleaning the rides after each rotation. I will of course pass on your comments regarding the Go Karts to our operations team for review.
We had several food outlets operating on a takeaway basis only until we were allowed under Welsh government guidelines, to open our indoor restaurant. All details regarding this and what was opened/closed is detailed clearly on our Staying Safe page on our website. I am sorry you felt the outlets were understaffed - but again we are operating based on the number of guests we have on park - plus we are ensuring our staff are kept at safe social distance from each other.
We are doing our very best and appreciate the support we are receiving from the majority of guests as we continue to adapt to this new normal. We appreciate your understanding and hope you can be assured your feedback will be passed onto the relevant managers.
Kind regards

We were a family of 6 adults and 2 toddlers and it cost around £150 which we thought was expensive but that does seem to be the rate in similar places. We got there early and parking wasn’t a problem. No queue to get in. Schools were back so it was quieter. We loved the animals. The Piranhas seemed to be very crammed in and a few people commented on this. We took our own sandwiches and snacks. We did buy coffees and ice cream and again for the size of our party this wasn’t cheap. The children loved the soft play but there was puddles of water where they had cleaned it. We paid to go on the big wheel at £1 per person. The outdoor play areas were also good. We stayed until about 4:00 and then the gift shop was busy. Overall we had a lovely day out. We would visit again but not for a while. I think I read if you go very late in the day the last hour or so it’s free.

Thank you very much for your review - I'm pleased you had an enjoyable day, that you felt the park was easy to access and that you had no issues with parking. I'm also very happy to hear you enjoyed our array of animals.
I'm sorry you felt initially that admission was expensive. However - I'm sure you can appreciate that we feel we're great value for money considering how much there is to see and do on a day out with us.
Included in the entry rate is an impressive, award-winning zoo, a large barn and farm area including piggery and Land Train tractor ride, numerous indoor and outdoor adventure play areas and our Tropical Trails exhibit. Many reviews we receive comment that we're a full day out, even if you chose to avoid the rides.
Our rides are the only additional cost in order to keep admission rates as low as possible and avoid queues more often associated with theme parks. At 50p per token and most rides costing 1 - 2 tokens per person, I'm sure you'd agree that this is great value for money. Especially when compared to travelling fairs that can cost around £4 per person, per ride.
I would like to point out your comment regarding free entry for the last hour is not true I'm afraid - our entry rate is the same regardless of when you visit - but last entries into the park is an hour before closing.
I'm sorry to hear there were some damp patches in our soft play areas due to some cleaning. I will certainly pass this onto the Operations Manager - however we would always encourage guests to notify a member of staff with any queries or issues at the time so they can be rectified straight away.
Please be assured that the welfare of our animals is at the heart of what we do and all of them are cared for by a great team of experienced and qualified keepers.
Piranhas prefer to live in tight groups and are not active fish. The very nature of piranhas is to actually attack each other if there were too many of them in a large space. Please be assured that we review our enclosures annually and always upgrade any we feel are no longer suitable.
I do hope my reply helps assure you and I thank you again for taking the time to leave us a review.
Kind regards

Having visited on many occasions, today's visit, all of 3 hours, has got to be one of our worst experiences. Whilst we prepared for what we knew would be a rainy day, Folly Farm itself had not taken this into consideration. There were no covered facilities to eat for anybody, only takeaways to buy food , presumably to eat standing in the rain. It was shocking to see toddler's and small children crying and wet because of the cold and rain. We ourselves had a 4 year old, wrapped up against the weather bit still upset because she was cold. We left early having not seen many animals and spent most of the time in the barn area. We complained to the duty manager but he said they were following government guidelines. Whilst l appreciate that there are covid restrictions in place, no thought had gone into what would happen on a wet day. We are in Wales after all. There is no provision to cancel because tickets are booked in advance an maybe taking the money is the most important thing?? In addition, they sold £10 of tokens online for rides that never opened. So no rides , many things closed, no dry facilities yet full price charged. The cost is not excessive, upkeep of animals is expensive, but in these circumstances it s unacceptable. It's not the rain that was the problem , it was the lack of planning for that eventually. There are lots of areas that could have been turned into covered areas with marquees etc The car park was relatively full when we arrived but when we left at 1pm so had most people, doubtlessly as disappointed as we were.

Thank you for your review – although naturally I’m sorry to hear you were disappointed with your most recent visit. Your comments are in stark contrast to most other reviews we have received since re-opening, praising us for our efforts in operating safely whilst still offering a fun day out, but I’m sorry the weather played a big part in causing disruption to your experience.
These are strange and difficult circumstances we are working in but we are doing our very best whilst also ensuring we adhere to the Welsh government restrictions. Although I’m sorry for the disappointment and appreciate that visiting on a wet day without any sheltered provisions would have been unpleasant compared to previous trips to us – we couldn’t have been more clear in our communication about what is and isn’t available. We are simply following the rules set out by the Welsh government which does not allow indoor attractions or hospitality to re-open until 17th May. As a business that has invested heavily on indoor provisions for wet weather days over the last few years – it is as equally frustrating to not be able to open these areas to guests, especially when the weather is as bad as it was on Monday.
We have a dedicated page on our website detailing everything that is open and closed, what to expect during your day with us, links to our booking system - plus we have posted numerous updates and links on our social media platforms so guests know what to expect when visiting us. We have even gone as far as putting weather reports out and reminders to guests that we are only permitted to operate outdoor attractions at the moment and to be as prepared as possible.
First and foremost – we are a large visitor attraction and not a bar or restaurant. These businesses have made the decision to either invest in sheltered areas for their patrons (which would be on a much smaller scale than ourselves) – or to remain closed until 17th May they will be permitted to open indoor areas. We on the other hand, are a site spanning 120 acres with much larger visitor numbers – so we would require several huge structures to offer shelter for a matter of a few weeks which simply isn’t viable after losing a huge amount of income over the last 12 months.
The weather at the beginning of the week was also particularly stormy so even if we did have marquee provisions, it would have been likely these would have been closed anyway due to the high winds and the possible dangers of this. I am aware of several local businesses who’s marquees unfortunately suffered damage as a result of the extreme weather conditions.
I would also like to point out that guests certainly do have the option to rearrange their visit to us, in case of poor weather for example. The Eventbrite booking tickets are date specific but they are free of charge and can easily be cancelled should you wish to rearrange your visit for a different date. Any admission tickets purchased online can be used within a three month period so again can simply be used on an alternative date – however we are also actively encouraging guests to pay for admission at the entry gates in case of poor weather, or if anyone in the party displays covid symptoms, etc. so this option would have been an option for you.
With regards to the ride tokens – we still have our outdoor rides operating which accept these tokens which is why they are still available to purchase and any unused tokens can be used in our gift shop or used on your next visit to us. In circumstances like this we would always advise speaking to a member of the team on the day of your visit so they can assist you or offer advice at the time.
We have been completely open with what to expect on a day out with us and I’m sure you can appreciate we are doing the best we can whilst adhering to the rules in place to ensure everyone is kept safe.
Assuring you of our best intentions at all times.
Kind regards

Despite the dismissive and condescending manner of their PR rep I have witnessed first hand how over crowded this place is…. No matter how much they protest the opposite is true.
In addition I disagree with the copy and past reply to the comment any reviewer makes regarding not being over priced. Perhaps you’re in a position to easily spend £100+ on half a day out, not all of us are.
Our experience was disappointing, mainly due to the over crowding of indoor areas, unpleasant experience of trying to find somewhere to sit down to eat and struggling to see any of the exhibits.
Should of known better than to go to such a venue in Aug though so I take the responsibility for that 😆

Thank you for your feedback - although of course I'm disheartened to read your comments and hear how disappointing your experience was.
Please be assured that we are doing everything we can do operate safely and have done so following the Welsh Government guidance. We have done our very best to communicate our health and safety information throughout and actively update this information as and when guidance changes. There is a dedicated page on our website that informs guests on what to expect on their day out with us.
I can assure you that we are most certainly still operating with reduced capacity and operating a pre-booking system. We are in fact, still only allowing around half of our usual maximum capacity - although naturally in the summer school holiday period it is a busier time and we are often sold out on the booking system.
Once we are sod out however, we are sold out - and we are currently very busy in the office dealing with numerous enquiries from guests who are looking for tickets on days listed as sold out that we are turning away due to the fact we do not want to exceed our maximum limit and become too busy. Please note that even after the latest Government announcement which essentially allowed businesses to relax their rules in outdoor areas - we still felt that the most sensible option for us was to keep our pre-booking system in place and operate at the same level so as to avoid getting too busy.
Apart from the fact the park is running on limited numbers - we also monitor busier indoor and 'pinch point' areas to ensure that certain sections (such as the fair or Carousel Woods) aren't getting too crowded. Management are very experienced in knowing how many guests are in an indoor area at any one time and if it reaches a point where they are concerned we are reaching capacity - then action will be taken and a member of staff will be placed at the door to count guests in and out.
I'm sure you can appreciate that during periods of wet weather - guests are naturally going to seek shelter at the same time and indoor and sheltered areas and attractions will become busier than other areas of the park.
I'm sorry you feel we're being 'dismissive and condescending' in our responses. That certainly is not our intention and we are simply doing our best to reply to concerns with the information required and to explain our policies and operation. I'm sure you and any other travellers who may be reading this review, can appreciate what a struggle it has been for staff who are working in difficult circumstances already and have been so busy communicating the rules around re-opening and health and safety on a daily basis.
With regards to value for money - again I'm sorry you are not happy with our response. However we would always defend our pricing system and argue what great value for money we are considering how much there is to see and do on a day out with us. You say you spent over £100 on your day with us but have not provided more information such as how many of you were in the party, and how much you may or may not have spent on food, drink, fair tokens or gift shop items? We feel that for everything that's included in the entry price (including an award winning zoo, a large farm, tractor ride and array of adventure play areas), we provide a full day out and excellent value for money.
I'm sorry again with how disappointed you were with your day out with us but I hope you can be assured by our best intentions.
Kind regards

Hi, my partner and I are thinking of staying at folly farm holiday park, is it suitable for adults without children?
Written 30 June 2023
Hi,
I am not sure whether there are options to STAY in the farm. It is a theme park and has rides such as giant wheel, merry go round, go karting, etc.
So if you guys enjoy this, you can go. We felt it is mostly a children’s place.
Hope that helps.

Hi there. All disabled visitors pay our standard admission prices and this automatically qualifies for a free carer place. So you just need to purchase one child and one adult pass and you husband and daughter will qualify for your free carer places.

Is there any way to get discount tickets? We will be staying at Haven kiln park. We was looking to go to folly farm but my goodness igloos expensive! Plus getting the fairground tokens as well on top!!
Written 16 August 2021
We aren't providing discounts or promotions sorry - with our business having had such a difficult 17 months or so and us still operating with reduced capacity, we are simply not in a position to be offering discounts. I do hope you consider visiting us - we are a full day out with plenty to see and do. The rides are not compulsory and many guests feel there's lots to see and do without using the rides. We have a large zoo, various indoor and outdoor adventure play areas as well as a huge farm area with Land Train tractor ride and piggery, all included in the entry price. Fair tokens are 50p each and most rides cost just 1-2 tokens per person - so you can easily budget how much you choose to spend here. I hope this helps - please get in touch direct should you have any further queries.

It's a great place for children to see a range of animals.
Plenty of open spaces for social distancing.
They have been careful to restrict the numbers on site at any time to keep it as healthy as possible.
The animals are free to roam in their enclosures, which can make it difficult to see them at times, but it is better for the animals. Feeding times is worth watching.
The shop has gifts that are affordable for children and also good mementos of the day.
Our greatest disappointment was the poor catering. Expensive and limited.
