Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We are a fairly fit couple, late 60s. We did the walk from Carbis Bay Station to St. Ives. The hills were a bit too much for us. The views were wonderful but to be honest it's really not worth doing if you aren't extremely fit and able. The train is the best option. It's only £1 each way. Well worth the money. We were glad we did it but definitely not for the front hearted.

We walked the reverse. There are some very steep parts, as well as some narrow muddy paths depending on your route (there are options and we may not have taken the easy route). The views across the bay are lovely. After a drink in Carbis we chickened out of the return walk and caught the train which was also great.

Great way to get to StIves . Path is good and easy in all weathers. Keep your eyes peeled for seals and dolphins in the bay. Takes about 30 mins. If you don’t want to walk both ways catch the train. It’s only £1 and runs every 30 mins. Great service.

We walked this regularly. It is mainly laid to gravel. We didn't walk directly from Carbis Bay beach but if you do there is a railway bridge with steps. Where we entered the path there was a kissing gate and also some steps. Most of the path is suitable for people with limited mobility or pushchairs, just maybe not the areas i've just described. It is a nice quiet walk into St.Ives along this path. Far better than walking along the road.

We stayed in the main part of Carbis Bay and cut across from the main road to this path to walk in St Ives numerous times. It was much more enjoyable and had a better views then walking along the main A3074 into St ives,

Lovely walk - with only a few really steep bits. The views are breathtaking - and plenty of times to pause to spot seals / admire the view.

Started from Carbis Hotel and after the first steep path up and over the railway the walk was fairly easy with views of St Ives and the Bay. About a 30 minute walk.

We tried the costal walk as an alternative to the train, it took us a good half an hour but the views were well worth the effort.
