This place was great with teenagers. We had fun swimming, kayaking and sun bathing! It kept the kids entertained and me relaxed!

Laguna de Apoyo is a hidden gem, which invites for a swim, but at least find one of the view points (for example in Catarina) to be dazzled by its beauty.

Was in Nicaragua on a mission trip, this was a nice break from the third world issues. We went here the last afternoon before we returned to the US to relax and decompress.

The crater lake water is very warm, clear and nice to swim in. I suspect water quality may be an issue so spit, don't swallow.

We came here for a day at Paradiso Hotel to relax on the beach, swim in the lake and take out some kayaks. We definitely weren't disappointed. With no vendors around hassling tourists for money; it was a very relaxing way of spending a day...More

I took my 9-year-old son here, and he was so excited to swim in an (inactive) volcano crater. It was very scenic and not too crowded. The water was a pleasant temperature, too.

This is a beautiful lagoon. Make sure you see it from up above where you can really grasp the beauty of it.

We had a brief visit and ate at a restaurant overlooking Laguna Apoyo. If you're looking for majestic views then you're in the right place.

This is one of the best places to swim and relax in Nicaragua. There are no vendors or (usually) crowds; just tranquil beauty and a perfect temperature clean lake.
