We did the horseriding as part of a package who h included the zip lining first then lunch then the horse riding. It was very professionally run with friendly and supportive guides. The walk up to the waterfall and pools was welcome after 40 mins in the saddle. The ride back was a bit quicker as the horses were keen to get back home! All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable couple of hours relaxing after the excitent of the zip lining.

We had an awesome adventure. We started with the zip line flying thru the tree tops then on to a really great house back trail ride and ending in the refreshing water falls. Each time there was fresh fruit waiting for us

The horses were incredibly well trained and you certainly don't need to be a good rider to enjoy the ride. We saw howler monkeys and beautiful views with good trail guides. But the heat/humidity detracted from some of the fun for this wimp.

Our guide Roy was very entertaining! Great tour all the way around! The trail provided some semi-intense situations for us unexperienced riders but the guides made sure we were comfortable. The stop at the waterfall was a nice refreshing break and the 200+ stairs were a nice challenge to us out of shape travelers. Lol

Several of us did the afternoon horseback riding and waterfall tour with a group of about 15 through the hotel in which we were staying. Roy and his team were incredible and 4 of their staff on horseback were with us the entire time. The horses were in great physical shape and I was worried they would be tired from ride after ride but that is not the case! They have a large ranch of horses and they rotate the horses out daily...as we were leaving, we saw the wrangler gathering all our horses and putting them in a truck to take to their ranch after a day of riding with new horses coming in for the next day. The horses were full of energy and well behaved-not tired.
Initially the ride is flat through farm land of cattle, etc. then into the rainforest followed by some steep ascents and descents to get to the waterfalls. It was not easy for me personally on the descents but Roy and his team were right there to help me and put me at ease-taking my horses reigns and guiding my horse slowly down the hill with them. The staff really know what they are doing and there to assist in every way as well as having fun while doing this. A real professional operation.
When we got to the waterfall and got off our horses, it's about a 10 minute steep hike down to the waterfalls and a tough 20 minutes back up with steps, steep trail and switchbacks according to those on the ride. I did not do it as I hiked earlier in the morning and was feeling tired so I waited on the bench at the top of the hiking the trail. Everyone went to the waterfalls and had great things to say about it. But it is a steep hike and many came up exhausted. While waiting for everyone at the waterfalls, I saw some very colorful birds and butterflies and lizards. The ride back was nice-with the staff making sure everyone was safe and feeling good as well as enjoying themselves.
It was a fun afternoon-the staff at Visa Los Suenos were incredible and make the tour fun for everyone. The horses were great and well taken care of.
Because of this experience, 3 of my friends went back 2 days later to do the canopy zip line tour with them and said it was excellent as well.

At first I thought it was a little pricey but what the heck I'm in Costa Rica. After horseback riding and doing the zipline tour I would have paid double. Horseback was sooo much fun, horses are well trained and guide Jose Castillo made me (a total beginner) feel safe and was hilarious and super friendly. We loved it so much we asked to rent the horses the next day. The zipline tour was just as fun. I thought you only get one zipline haha but you get to go down twelve times. All the guides made you feel safe at the same time joking about termites eating away the trees. Other places might just send you down and say have fun but everyone who worked here was so personable and made it all about the experience. Its clear that all the employees main priority is you enjoying your time. Highly recommend this place!!

Do it! This was my daugther's favorite part of our Costa Rica vacation, tied with surfing in Jaco. I (mom) & kids (8 & 11) found the beginning of the ride a bit hot/humid, but quickly recovered in the shade of the jungle canopy, and then the waterfall/swimming holes were all the more refreshing. We had such a great time playing in the water. Our guide was excellent and spoke English well. The short hike up from the waterfall was also nice, as he entertained us with just the right amount of interesting info & tricks using the local plants, and that provided a few natural rest points. He also went above & beyond by giving us extra sunscreen & by taking and emailing pictures. A few tips: wear clothing with good sun protection that you can swim in (okay to ride back damp & no place to change at waterfall). There are clean bathrooms at the start/end of the trip, and the office safely held some items for us during the ride. No need to carry water, as they provided some along with a nice fruit snack at the waterfall. We will definitely do this again next time we're there!

The Vista Los Suenos Horseback riding tour is perfect for all levels of riders! The ride itself is through a beautiful, private farm and up to the top of one of the mountains, then a hike down the side to pools at the base of a spectacular waterfall............Rain or shine (I have done both), it's a must see!!!!!!!!!! The entire crew, from the owner of the farm and horses to the guides are there soley to make sure your experience is memorable! You will get amazing photos for your scrapbook, so don't forget your camera!!!

While this location is generally reviewed for it's zipline adventure, they also have a horseback riding tour that goes up a mountain. You ride up the mountain and are rewarded with amazing views and you hike down to a waterfall that has pools at the bottom that you can swim in! This is a must for photogs and mild adventure seekers. The guides are awesome and their english is spoken at a high level. What an amazing experience! I can't wait to go back!

For some reason, Vista Los Suenos and Trip Advisor keep e-mailing me to comment about my horseback riding experience with them. We did not go horseback riding at Vista Los Suenos (though we did go ATVing and it was fantastic), so here goes:
Our pretend guide, whose name shall be Ricardo, was a stunning Tico who spoke perfect English with just a charming hint of a beautiful Costa Rican accent. He chose for me my pretend horse: a midnight black quarter horse named Imperial (after the wonderful Costa Rican beer).
We rode through pretend, lush jungle spotting a pretend sloth nestled in a pretend treetop. We stopped at a pretend watering hole where Ricardo pointed out to us a family of pretend toucans. From there we rode to a pretend waterfall of pristine clear turquoise water where we pretended to swim and eat the most succulent pretend watermelon and pineapple. Suddenly, a pair of brilliantly-coloured, pretend macaws flew over head trumpeting the time to return from our pretend adventure.
Sure! This was all pretend; but it could have easily happened in Costa Rica!
