After a walk

The setting is magnificent. A good place for a nature walk and garden stroll. A large terrace is waiting for you when thirsty or even hungry. For a modest price you choose a decent Belgian beer or a lunch.strongly recommended!

As a kid, I went past this park on a daily basis on the bus but I can't remember ever going in, and now that seems such a shame. We entered the park through a wooded area and through some charming gates into a walled garden. Despite in being October, flowers were still in bloom and the variety of plants were fast. This is a great park for young and old. There is a cafe in the park which was closed on the day we went but looks like it's well loved on busier days.

Vordenstein: brisk walk, jogging, exploring nature: all fun and a calming influence as a walk in the proverbial park.
Jan 2017 • Couples
A walk in the proverbial park could hardly get any better than walking in Vordenstein. Not bothered by annoying dogs nor egoistic cyclists (both type of animals are not allowed), one can fully enjoy her/his walk in this historic park. One can wonder why anyone needs to go golfing with Vordenstein in the neighbourhood. After a brisk walk, a jogging exercise or a leisure stroll you can indulge yourself with a Trappist beer or an artisan ice cream at the Orangerie. Don't forget to pay a visit to the well maintained herbal garden, the Dahlia garden and the annually changing theme garden! A place to cherish!

Good to know: the lanes in the garden are at least.

Beautiful Park for afternoon stroll!

We go here very often! :) It's beautiful, clean and quiet. You can walk for 15 minutes or 3 hours and the gardens change throughout the seasons which is extremely beautiful! You can see all sorts of wildlife including deer, foxes, squirrels and so much more! The laid gardens and vegetable patches are also incredibly beautiful and always make you hungry! :) Eating in the Orangerie is also a must if you visit as the dishes are good quality for a great price and it's a non profit supporting charity! :) If you haven't been, you should go!

Nice park for running or walking
Feb 2016 • Family
I often run in this park, and appreciate the diverse vegetations there. From a rose garden, over prairies with cows to woodlands.
Also use the connection with the much larger 'Peerdsbos' to make even longer walks or runs. Especially when you come early in the morning you have a chance to see so wildlife.

Less sooted for children as there are no playgrounds.
Watch out to come here after long periods of rain, as not all paths are available then (a lot of mud)

Do not come here with dogs or on bike as you WILL get a fine...
