Cause of the corona restrictions I missed Julie for a long time and needed her experience for my dogs. This weekend we had the Zoom video analyses and life training. It was far above my expectations!! Thanks Julie.... we can go further now!!!

Wonderful afternoon meeting Julie and her amazing dogs. My nephew has a border collie and I walk it often and am always amazed by what seems to be her natural herding instincts, so I was interested to see how an expert trains. Julie explained her method which she has developed over many years and which seems to be more about training natural instinct that just blind obedience. Julie worked with dogs at various levels of training and showed us both voice and whistle commands. It was fascinating to see the dogs working with the sheep, especially when they where working in pairs. It was also amusing to see Missy the cat muscling in on the action. The surrounding country side is amazing, and the drive down the A7 was stunning. I would highly recommend a visit the Neth Hill Border Collies if you are in the area.

My family is from Colorado and Alaska in the US and had always been interested to see sheep dogs in action and I rarely write reviews, but this is a must see and experience when in Scotland. Julie Hill introduced us to her puppies through her champions with a bit of a "hold-your-breath" display of what essentially is a lot of hard work and years for training. Julie and her partner are both Internationally acclaimed and we were met with humor and a quiet passion in animals they clearly love. The hot tea and biscuits on a blustery day were welcome as well. If you have a chance to schedule an appointment, this was a highlight of our 3 weeks exploring Scotland. We will be back!

We came across reference to Julie’s work via a programme on Channel 5. We have a Border Collie and I thought this would be a good and ‘novel’ part of my wife’s birthday. We were not disappointed. It was informative and entertaining at the same time. Julie was very happy to answer questions including those about our own dog. There was 5 in our group and we all thought it was brilliant. Just one tip on getting there if approaching from Heriot - turn right at the (house) sign for Carcant.

It took a bit to get there, and a bigger bit to get home but it is worth the travelling! OMG, this place is amazing! Julie is THE dog whisperer; I only wish I could send my beast to her for training, lol. The setting is magic. The dogs and Julie working together are incredible. And we got to pet the baby lambs. Heaven. Just know that cell phone service and internet are not available, so proceed accordingly.
