This was a highlight on our drive from Tregaron to Abergeswn via the pass. The detour to take in the lake and bridge was a fabulous little drive. The engineering skill here well in evidence.

Came here on a camping weekend and stopped here to take in the views. Our dog loved it, splashing in the lake. Its in the middle of nowhere so bring a picnic and enjoy the views.

The reservoir is quite picturesque but the most pleasure for us was the visit to RSPB reserve Gwenffrwd-Dinas and the fabulous scenic views as we completed a road circuit starting and finishing in Llandovery

We've driven or cycled to this beautiful place many, many times over many years, and it's still one of our favourite places on the planet. It can be swelteringly hot, unbelievably chilly, raining, even thundery, but the drama of the place never fails to impress....More

Nice lake attraction with forested areas surrounding some parts which can be a boon during hot weather.

Great cool place in summer with plenty of fresh air and good views of the surrounding countryside. Great place to walk and relax from the pollution of town traffic

For anyone who does not have a head for heights this trip is a little if not a lot scary, but the views over the dam and surrounding areas are spectacular, and as a bonus, when it is really hot and levels in the dam...More

If weather is good it's well worth taking a picnic, and wandering across thedam to far side of reservoir and up through the forest

You will have no problems with the track surfaces, they are all easily managed with a hybrid. You may have to lift the bike over a gate that has been locked to keep the motorbikes out.
