Take the time to visit this awesome church. As you leave town for Alberobello watch for the magnificent view looking above you to see the church standing unobstructed above the hillside - magnificent!

Located in the heart of the old town this church from late 18th century is dedicated to St George the Martyr. Nice facade, interior is pleasant but nothing spectacular. Anyway worth a quick look inside as you're strolling through the white streets of Locorotondo.

Well, maybe that's a bit strong: Ostuni is beautiful, but very touristy, whereas Locorotondo is still very much as it was before Puglia became popular (the tourists are here too, but are better hidden). The church is indeed worth the visit, with a very interesting...More

This is an elegant church, very finely maintained and well worth a visit, set in an attractive town. What I found particularly interesting about it was the crypt. Behind glass doors in the crypt the parish displays its archive, which I have never seen done...More

The church is located in the large piazza at the top of this hilltop town next to the municipal building. If you have time Locorotondo is worth a visit however if you have to select between here and visiting nearby Alberobello, definitely go to see...More

This is a small town on a hilltop dominated by the cathedral but still oozes charm through its quiet, whitewashed streets. Around the cathedral are some great photo scenes. You can wander around in the stillness of the afternoon and just soak it in. Yes...More

This is clearly the center of the old town. You have seen this before if you have visited other hill towns in Calabria and Puglia. The white stucco type finish is very pleasing and the enterior of the church is very soothing.
