About
Established in 1898, Poli Distillerie is an artisan-type company owned by the Poli family and located in Schiavon, near Bassano del Grappa, in the heart of Veneto, the most renowned region in Italy for Grappa production. The bulding of the Poli Distillery is considered to be of major historical interest because of its portico structure which is typical of the old Veneto rural dwellings.

Bassano Del Grappa Museum

An interesting array of old distilling devices and a history of the family business in a building from the 1500's was worth the trip and included a tasting.

The Single Best Grappa Distillery in Italy
Sep 2018 • Friends
If you love grappa then this place will be heaven for you. Not only can you explore the most amazing Museum of Grappa to learn how it was first produced, how the process has changed over the years and what makes grappa so special. Then you can actually see how it is made (the best time is late August to early October). The stills that Poli uses date back over 60 years and all their product is made the authentic single batch way. Some producers use the continuous method which I would argue is not as good as the single batch method. You can also taste all the grappas that Poli makes as well as thier flavored products (try the Elisir China and the Vacca Mora and the Airone Rosso!) actually, try everything!! The single best bottle of grappa on this planet may still be available when you go, although there are few left as only 5,000 were made. This is the La Premier which made from the 2007 Rothschild Premier Cru marc from Bordeau, France. They cannot call it grappa as the marc is from France, so it is officially an Acquavite. I have two bottles of this distillate and by far it is the best grappa I have ever tasted. It was in Barrique from the chateau for over five years and is so special that you will never find another grappa even close to this one.

A perfect visit!
Mar 2018 • Couples
My wife and I booked a tour to the distillery a week before - little did we know what an amazing experience awaits us. Our guide, Ilva, was kind, welcoming and very professional, answered every question (and I had a lot) and offered us a lot of the products to taste. We have a few other grappa and whisky distilleries to compare visits to, and this was the best.
Highly recommended!

Thank you Ilva!

Grappa History

Small museum on how Grappa is made, which is somewhat of Italy's version of legal moonshine. Poli makes the purest of grappa, very smooth and flavorful. You do need to make a reservation to have a guided tour that is only three euro, which does include a tasting of their product and they do make quite a bit.

Are you sure you don't like grappa?
Feb 2016 • Business
Ok, perhaps you don't like grappa, you might find it dry, throat burning and old style but heaven knows why you are interested in looking up distillerie poli. So, wipe your insecurities away and give this place a chance. I'm pretty sure about a couple of things, you will find the grappa you like or at least you will find a fine gift for a very important friend or colleague.

Insight into Grappa
Oct 2015 • Business
Interesting tour. Very professionally presented. Superb facility. The tasting gave good insight into the product. The marketing effort in the packaging confuses our natural ability to determine our preferred product, but still very informative. Well woth a visit.

Jacopo Poli
Feb 2014 • Solo
I live in Toronto Canada and I have an unopened 500ml (43%) bottle of Jacopo Poli with the following description :

Raccolta: 1995 Litri prodotti: 5240 Bottiglia n:2458 Lotto N:13C6

Could anyone tell me what it actually is (Grappa?) and how much it might be worth.

A very nice experience.
A visit to the distillery was a very memorable one. Their exhibition was highly informative and beautifully laid out. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Unfortunately, we were unable to secure a guided tour of the facility due to a private event. But staff did their best to ensure that we were assisted to the best of their capability.

The shop has an extensive collection of Poli products. You can do free sampling and check out a machine that allows you to smell their different grappas. Very cool.

The folks at Poli are in the business of bringing pleasure and they succeed. Their product is first rate and their museum is fantastic. Worth a visit and try the grappa, take some home.
