Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great cultural experience to understand Etruscan culture. I will recommend to visit the necropolis first to see the tombs and then Etruscopolis. Our guide was excellent and gave us a great tour of the place interacting with our two children very well.

I don't like folkloristic disneyland-type reconstruction but This "etruscan underground city is the best way to show the children how the Etruscan people lived . This is the work of a "tombarolo" who certainly liked his land and was proud of his ancestry.

We followed the instructions from a post on tripadvisor guiding us how to buy the tickets from the tabachi and take the bus to Tarquinia. The instructions were spot on but we were turned away from the tabachi very abruptly and rudely. We went on to the station and we're adviser to pop into the Pam Local grocers who kindly sold us their last two tickets. The bus was a good, pleasant 25min ride out of town and stopped just outside the old city walls. We had a walk up the hill on the main street. The view from the top of the countryside was refreshing and memorable. We continued our walk out of the old city to the Necropolis. The combined ticket for the necropolis and the museum was €8 per person. Don't spend too much time at the tombs and archeological site as the more interesting artefacts are to be found at the museum. In hindsight we should have spent less time there so that we had more at the museum. The museum not only has a very good display, but I was blown away by the building that it was in. The town was a pleasant change from the chaos of trying to get to Rome. We wandered around town for a bit and then headed back to Civitavecchia. An easy excursion to arrange yourself and certainly rewarding. Thanks tripadvisor, we wouldn't have been able to do this without the advice received on the boards.

It's a super nice reconstruction of Etruscan culture. A spacoius place to walk and learn about Etruscan legacy. A little difficult to find, but with the help of local people we managed to get there. The Lady at the reception was very helpful.

An eye opening view into the past. The. Tombs are incredible! So well preserved. The paintings in the tombs still retain their original colors. Each is beautiful in their own way!

It's a quarry with reconstructed objects inside. Beautiful reconstructions of the tombs, according to Tarquinia it is definitely more recommended to go and see the real ones.
