You can get to this beach by boat (average R$ 10 per person) or walking(this option you will need to enter Pontal do Atalaia by taxi or R$ 20 per car). It can be really crowded, you better arrive early and avoid weekends. Tje san is brigjt white and the sea is really blue. The water is very cold though. ( in Arraial do Cabo all of the beaches have a really cold water).
This is the beach where there is a famous stair that evertbody takes some pictures.

Dear all,

This may be a strange request (and this is my first post here on tripadvisor) but I would greatly appreciate your help. I have just been in Arraial do Cabo as one of the last stops on a trip through Brazil. I can really recommend the sunset at Pontal do Atalia - it is very spectacular!

When I was there (at the main view point) on Thursday Aug 8th, I came across this very cute, sweet and very weary street dog - see the attached picture. Arraial do Cabo is full of stray dogs and many of them are reasonably well off. They seem to all fend for themselves pretty well and the local people are generally friendly to dogs, leaving water out for some of them at shops etc.

This individual however was on his own and - despite the fact that the view point is visited by many people during the day - was extremely hungry and thirsty. He was also limping a little, seemingly having a problem with his front right leg. I came back on Thursday evening and again Friday morning with food and water which I passed to him slowly so as to not give him indigestion. Unfortunately, I had to leave early that Friday and was not able to take him to a vet or do anything more for him.

Now this may seem like a slightly silly post. There are lots of stray dogs around Brazil and most of them are quite capable of fending for themselves. Arraial do Cabo is certainly not the worst place for a street dog to live either. There is a good chance that one of the locals will take to him and help him out.

Even so, I would greatly appreciate it if people could keep an eye out for him (he seemed to be fairly residentiary at the view point) and perhaps give him some dog food and water when they can.

Please let me know if you have seen the dog and have any news on his condition. Many thanks for your understanding and help!

It took us about 2.5 hrs to get there from Rio de Janeiro but it was all worth it every penny spent. The beach has that beautiful blue waters and we encountered NO people around, we enjoyed the whole afternoon and enjoyed some campirinhias at the only place open that day, we went thru the weekdays maybe that is why it was empty but we recommend this place, I have heard that if you go after the weekend, there is a lot of trash left by people that visit during the weekend. Enjoy this place it is GREAT, then go to the city and parl your car in the mountain and observe one of the best sunstes I have ever seen....A++++

We walked from our hotel to this beach, crossing a Morro, which was a walk for 20 minutes from the harbour.

The beach area is in a bay, very very nice and wonderful sea - a spot to visit while you are in Arraial.

You can rent umbrellas and chairs there, as well as buy something to drink and eat.

It's the nicest beach in Arraial do Cabo. The only downside of all the beaches is the trash left by the people.

Amazing beaches and landscape. The only drawback is the relatively cold water, but the sun was shinning and the sea colors were so amazing that we didn´t think twice to experience it!

The most beautiful beach we went to in Arraial. Recommend going by boat from Praia dos Anjos. We were there on a weekend in January and it was EXTREMELY crowded, like you could barely find a place to even stand, much less sit down. There was also trash everywhere because of the kiosks that sell food and drinks and people leave the packaging behind. On one side of this beach the water is disgusting because of all the boats that park there, but on the other side it is gorgeous and clear.

This beach is awesome and really beautiful, one of the most incredible beach I ever visited! Have in mind that are only allowed 250 cars to enter in the condominium to access the beach (R$ 10,00 per car), so during vacations, this number is reached around 8 am. But you can also go by boat, taking a taxi boat at the angel’s beach. If you go by car, remember that there is a stair with around 150 steps to access the beach, so it’s recommend to travel light. Anyway, believe me: it’s totally worth it! An unique view with crystal clear water!
