Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Valeria Mano was so gracious with her time and so knowledgeable. She helped me book a local osteria from Australia several months ago when a site I thought was the restaurant, turned out to be Francone winery. We then arranged to visit, and we had an amazing couple of hours here. Such a wonderful family business (now 5th generation) producing so many varieties of wines of such great quality.
We couldn’t have spent a better morning thanks to Valeria and Francone Cantina. Would highly recommend a visit in this stunning part of Italy. I have toured wineries often before but have never learned so much !!

A friendly visit, nice place, nice Barolos. Close to Neive town. Knowledgeable guides. Besides Barolo, Nebbiolo etc, a nice surprise - Nebbiolo sparkling wine. Great variety of real rose/rosato sparkling. Don’t miss it!

First you get a tour through the whole winery. Afterwards the fantastic tasting! If you‘re around Alba, visit Francone! We are completely fascinated!
Thank you Susanna for the tour and the tasting!

This was the last of five wineries we visited and loved it! The tour was really interesting and the tasting was fantastic. All of the wines were amazing but the Barolo 2013 was our favorite. Definitely visit this winery if you are able.

We really enjoyed our wine tasting experience at Francone. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a great introduction to Barbaresco. The prices are reasonable and they also sell the wine check (a suitcase for wine!).

One of the best wineries for wine tasting around.Wonderful little museum of family and wine making history with old machines, carts, and memorabilia.

Of course the wine is excellent too, but this winery gives you extra information into the wine making tradition that is so highly valued and proudly passed down through generations in this area.

A real experience not a touristy let down that are creeping into some of the hilltop wineries of old Neive.

Excellent tour - the guide was extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend going. The Barbaresco and Barolo at different vintages were all fantastic.

I was there with my boyfriend and a couple of friends, December/23
It was a lovely visit. Wine tasting was presented by Laura, super passionate girl that showed and explained us a lot of things.
She added a personal touch, telling us about some special bottles she tasted with friends.
I highly recommend the tasting and the tour.
Ah! And they have good prices and discounts for quantity. Totally worthy.

We walked in and one of the owners greeted us. We were early but he went led us to the tasting room and had us stand by for a tour host. Valeria came in and did one of the best tasting tours we have ever had, including beer, irish whiskey and bourbon. She spent time explaining every part of the region, the grapes and what made the wine so special. Our tour was in english and she spoke really well, easy to understand. Both of the owners made an appearance at one point and greeted us and answered some questions but Valeria was the superstar! The wines were fantastic and although I'm not a wine expert, they were some of the better wines we had in Italy. Seems 2019 was a very good year for Barola and Barbaresca because they were all amazing. She also let us she one of the processes in sparkling wine of freezing and removing the yeast. Very cool! Ask for her by name if you go. Amazing knowledge of everything Italy.
It is not a scenic winery overlooking the valley like some but was special for us none the less!! Thank you Francone Winery. We look forward to sharing these special wines in a few years
