I must say that I was a little disappointed with the market when I first visited because I'd heard such wonderful tales about it. Having said that there are a lot of different stands including fresh veg, plants, food, books and a coffee shop. I would recommend that you pay at least on visit to it and judge for yourself.

Stocking up on some local produce is a dream come true here and a good variety too. Top quality atmosphere, well organised and worth every penny spent at each stall. I recommend getting there as early as possible (it opens at 7am) and arriving with an empty stomach. Plenty to eat!

A busy long weekend market but parking was really well organised, tables laden and replenished, enough seating and superb market brunch food!

Well worth a walk though the shed for some organic foods and most definitely a smoked haddock Omelette

A happy old school community gathering spirit fills this market and energizes you with a feel good happy feeling that lasts all day. Excellent coffee ..... If you go in summer go early or it can get a bit hot. The market before Christmas is extra special with added crafters ..... I bought the nicest hand painted cards

Why does a country that enjoys such good weather, as South Africa does, choose to hold markets in large industrial sheds? Karloof is a bit like Cape Towns Biscuit Factory market in Woodstock. Another large boring shed with tables of home made produce and a little fresh produce. Nothing particularly interesting that you cannot buy in a shop or restaurant,... More

Karkloof Farmer's Market is such a relaxing enjoyable place to visit. Whenever we visit the Midlands we always include a visit to the market. The freshly baked artisan bread and cheese, the pancakes and coffee everything is just so special.
