Thoroughly enjoyed our visit today, Kevin our guide really made the experience memorable. His knowledge was extensive and provided a wealth of information being an ex RAF Pilot himself. Would have no hesitation recommending a visit to RAF Coningsby for anyone interested in WW2 aircraft.

Considering its name, I was expecting a much larger and detailed insight into the Battle of Britain instead of the relatively small display on the role of the RAF which, with its own entrance, is situated to one side of Conningsby Airfield (currently an active Typhoon base). Much more could be included, I feel, about the Battle thus making the... More

The guided tour is more than you would expect. Not just a list of planes but an exploration of the human stories behind the exhibits as well - a great way to spend a day

I took 5 children (4 boys aged 10-13 and 8 yr old girl) today - greeted by friendly staff who even gave the children a chocolate whilst we waited for our guide. Interesting displays in museum area kept us busy whilst waiting too. Our guide, James, was simply brilliant. He engaged with all the children and went to to great... More

Visited today, 7 December. A very enjoyable and informative couple of hours. A reasonable entry fee and polite helpful staff. Our tour guide, Trevor, was knowledgable and able to present the information in a way that kept the interest of those who knew a lot and those who knew a bit. He had an obvious passion for the subject, was... More

If you are interested in military aviation history you should not miss this place. Museum is a part of military airfield so there are certain restriction which you normally do not experience in Duxford for instance. Expert guide who flew on some of those magnificent flying machines gives deep insight look into important technical aspect of aeroplanes, and last but... More

Tours leave the visitor centre every half an hour. Our very knowledgeable guide, Terry kept us informed and entertained with anecdotes and stories of bravery. It was really humbling to see the Spitfires up close and realise that one man sat in the cockpit to fight, knowing that he cold easily be shot down. A good way to spend a... More

This really is worth a visit, the tour of the hangar is conducted by friendly and well informed guides, you will see the Hurricane, Spitfire and Dakota, hear all about the aircraft, see the weaponry and also hear about the exploits of the heroic pilots. Unfortunately the Lancaster bomber is away at the moment but this did not in anyway... More

We visted after the display season so there was a greater chance of catching most of the flight at home. The visitor centre is well set out with many interesting articles, histories and stories. There is a gift shop with a large selection of items available for all ages. The real reason for coming though is to get a chance... More
