The TFAM collection is comprised of some 30,000 Japanese, Eastern and Western artworks, ranging from paintings, prints, photography, sculptures, ceramics and lacquer ware to armor, swords and medallions of various periods and cultures. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great work here. This place located very near with SOKA University. You can access easily by bus from Hachioji Station.

This museum has the largest collection of Western art of any museum we have been to so far. The collection is very well balanced as far as major schools of art being represented across a historical timeline. It did seem as if not all the galleries were in use for this but it was still quite pleasant. It should not take more than two hours to view unless you opt for a coffee or light meal at the cafe.
Be forewarned: get there early as they had run out of every menu item and cake by 2:00.
Admission is very reasonable compared to city museums in downtown Tokyo.
There is ample English signage.
Parking is free in two lots up the hill from the entrance but again, plan ahead and arrive early to get a space right away or be prepared to wait.

The photographs of Robert Capa were worth seeing. It was not crowded, it was quiet and easy to see. It is on until June 23rd, so if you haven't seen it yet, hurry up.

If you happen to be in Hachioji and in Soka university vicinity you might as well check this place out. Like all museums in Japan it's nicely done, has clean and comfortable facilities but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

This museum is located a considerable distance from Hachioji Station on the campus of Soka University. The permanent collection is generally second rate, and with a few exceptions the traveling and temporary exhibits are not particularly strong.

Bus service is available from Hachioji Station so it is not necessary or advisable to take a taxi due to the cost.

The campus itself is attractive during the cherry blossom season.

This was my first visit to the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum. It was crowded as it was the last weekend of the special exhibition, but everyone from the security guards to the receptionist was kind and made us feel comfortable. The restrooms are clean and plentiful, and you don't have to wait.
The exhibition had a huge amount of content that was well organized and easy to understand.

There were many works on display depicting the elegant scenes of the Heian period. Starting from Kiritsubo, the plot is written with the exhibits, so if you take your time to read through, you will be able to understand the whole story. The restored costumes of "Two Ladies Performing a Demonstration" in front of the entrance were also gorgeous and worth seeing.
If you have time, we recommend checking out the permanent exhibition.

Since I had made a reservation in advance, I was able to get my ticket just by showing the voucher, and I also got a discount of about 300 yen thanks to various discount services, so it was a good deal!

It was great to see a real camel specimen!
The walls were lined with promotional posters from past exhibitions, giving it a sense of history.
There are chairs in the exhibition room, so you can take your time looking around. Buses run frequently, so it's easy to get there.

It was truly amazing.
Life must have been difficult in those days, but I think it's amazing that those who created and wrote it were able to do so.
And I also think it's amazing that those who later unearthed it were able to do so.
I would like to pass this on to my successors as much as I can.
