OK I have not been since say one year. But you were filling that there was no money left for the animals. Go to Ueno for romance...But it was possible to play with hamsters.

We first visited the guinea pig petting area. From there one can go and see penguins, goats, deer, monkeys and other animals. There is a huge area where the squirrels scuttle freely and close to you. There are also places with exotic birds.
