Funky cozy area full of restaurants, shops, bars, big park

Full of interesting fashion minded people into music, culture. Great place to hang out in a good or even in a bad weather day when the Inogashira Park gets empty.

This was my second visit to Japan and we stay in an apartment that is one stop from Kichijoji. It's where the locals shop and the prices are better than Shinjuku or Akihabara. There is a large Yodobashi Camera store there and it seemed a bit cheaper than Akihabara. Also, there is a 7 story Uniqlo! They have most of... More

This village to the west of Tokyo, is rather remote from central Tokyo but is easily accessible with the Chuo line. Go to the Inokashira Park and Lake. It is beautiful and relaxing. The lane leading there from the station is lined with shops, restaurants and ice-cream shops is itself quite lovely. There are cafes surrounding the lake. The entrance... More

Once a small but elegant shopping place, has grown into a multiplex shops of varied nature. This place has all things you are looking for at affordable prices ! A bit crowded during week ends, you can, still, manage through to select the thing you are wanting to buy! Kichijoji is hardly 15 mins from Shinjuku and Shibuya by train,... More

Plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops within a walkable distance. Definitely recommend the vibe of Inokashira Kouen.

Took a walk in the neighbourhood voted annually as the number one most popular neighbourhood to live in since 2004. Easily accessible on the Chuo Line from Shinjuku, the Kichijoji park was serene and many dogs were taking a walk with their owners. The lake was drained for some construction works and would have been very pretty otherwise. The neighbourhood... More

Kichijoji is a great place for cheap eats and traditional shopping too. I enjoyed exploring the little streets with many small shops and restaurants. If you are in the area is worth a visit!

Kichijoji reminds me a lot of places back in the UK I like. It's filled with quirky stores, vintage clothing and tiny restaurants as well as one of the loveliest parks I've been to (Inokashira Park; Lots of grass and benches, cool and original street performers and a welcoming vibe). It's a place where you can wander without being swallowed... More

Quirky, youthful, friendly, beautiful. I love Kichijoji! Great shopping, the gorgeous Inokashira Park is nearby - go on a Sunday to catch the markets/performers. There are some awesome restaurants here too - Midori Sushi, Village Vanguard, Pizzeria G.G...such a cool place to chill. Plus, the Ghibli museum is nearby! You can't go wrong.

One of my favourite places in Tokyo. Very lively and vibrant particularly in the park area. In the last few years Kichijoji has extensively developed and it doesn't look like it will stop any time soon. Not everyone like that sort of progress for those who like shopping they will feel right at home. Other local attractions include the Zoo... More
