We booked this museum through Japan Awaits. They secured the tickets for us and had them delivered to our hotel. They were great communicating with us in advance on getting the tickets delivered to our hotel. The museum itself was quite interesting, but I will...More

One of the most sought after tickets in Tokyo. The Ghibli Museum, is a lovely Museum in the Mikata west of Tokyo. Although tickets can be bought through Lawson, it is quite difficult if you can’t understand Japanese. There are tours available that visit museum,...More

We are huge Studio Ghibli fans. Visiting the museum was one of our top objectives when we decided to visit Japan. I did a trial run over the summer to see if I could secure tickets through Lawson. It was a big mess, so I...More

We purchased tickets and transportation for our visit to the Ghibli Museum. We arrived early and waited outside for our turn to enter the museum. Museum entry is strictly regulated which keeps crowds down. The area surrounding the museum is a lovely park. Once we...More

If you’re a Miyazaki fan, then you have to go. Really amazing to see behind the curtain. That said, the museum is small, and when we were there it was very crowded. Buying tickets (if you don’t live in Japan) is not simple, therefore it...More

A museum that truly achieved what the founder desired. Personal, interactive and educational. Love the small short film at the start of the tour.

Although it is smaller compared to Tokyo Disney Land and DisneySea, I find the experience as good and even slightly better than other theme parks in Japan. The amount of detail put into the park is amazing, and I find this place to be must...More

Having been 4 years ago, I knew what I we needed to do in order to get tickets. However the agent that we used was charging almost 4 times the price so we threw caution to the wind and asked a friend if her parents...More

Amazing place if you like the animation for studio Ghibli, you can learn a lot of the process of making movies, it’s a shame you can not take pictures inside the museum.

When we entered the museum they did not check our passports at all. So it should not be a problem however if you are worried have the travel agent you brought the ticket through correct it

I don't think so. As long as you carry the ID with you to the museum it should be fine.

Hey I had the same issue. If you come in they mainly ask for your name. They took h name and gave me my ticket with no problem at all. This was just a few months ago. Hope you have a good time there!
