Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic course of samurai from the excellent sensei Sumida! We (father with two teenage sons) found it an amazing and unforgettable experience and loved every minute of it. Sensei Sumida was so kind and patient and let us practice plenty of times to cut the rolls. Worth every yen!

Amazing class, highly recommend.
Not the cheapest class you can find in Tokyo, but this samurai is the real deal and it was our favourite activity of our time here,

He’s the guy Mr Beast trained with in the YouTube short “Mr. Beast trains with a real samurai in Japan! 😱😱”

I had a great time here! The instructor definitely knows what he's talking about. The course includes some basic history, cut practice, sparring and in the end you get to cut tatami mats. Sparring was the most enjoyable part for me, but that's up to preference.

Almaty is no place for a tourist. The destinations are not developed yet for visits. Kok Tope turns out to be an entertainment park for kids. Nothing for adults. Visiting Almaty is zero value for the money paid. Best avoided.

My son (turning 13) is fascinated with katana swords and Japanese culture. We found this master through watching a Mr. Beast video where he visited Tokyo. The master was a very excellent instructor, the class was small and each person got personal attention. They first learned about swords, proper technique, etc. They got to practice multiple swings, spar and cut mats. It was an excellent experience!

So, this was the number 1 activity my husband wanted to do, and he LOVED it. I didn't participate in the class, but the sensei let me attend and observe. My husband considered this one of his top 3 experiences in Japan. He really enjoyed learning how to use a samurai sword and practice slicing through rolled up mats. Highly recommended!!!

An amazing experience, something you will remember for a very long time. He was funny, patient and charasmatic. Also strict as you have to be around a Katana that can slice you. Absolutely any adult can try this no age limitations on mental ones

Cannot give enough stars!

Samurai sword experience - amazing 2 hours. Meet at the dojo & welcomed by the very friendly Yoshioki Sumida (Bizenkai)
Changed into samurai kimono & prepared for our lesson in Japanese swordsmanship.
Yoshioki explained all the history of the samurai sword & how it is used.
We practiced with 'dummy' swords, then used the actual, authentic, super sharp (enjoy the sharpness of Japanese sword)
Used our learned technique to slice through rolled tatami mats - great fun.
Had an amazing few hours with Yoshioki & received an authentic certificate at the end.
Would highly recommend this experience (We booked through Rakuten experiences)

It was amazing. Both my teen boys gave it a 10/10. MY husband loved it too! Was great i was able to watch for whole session. Small and intimate authentic training and explanations of history and tools. My 13 year old thought it pretty cool same training was done by Mr Beast (youtuber). Was up there with our fav activities for whole holiday. :)
