Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Its not the same anymore, seems the older people are being pushed out for the younger generation saturday used to be pretty full now empty in comparison, it also seems that its more a boarding kennels for dogs than a pub, with some owners letting their dogs roam free around the pub sniffing you and under your table, not fare when younhave women at the bar waiting to get served with a dog sniffing up behind ot good when they have nice Clothes on shocking, many owners seem to forget that not everyone likes dogs and indeed some are allergic and suffer ashma also the dog owners allow their dogs to sit on the bench chairs even after been walked in bad weather giving the place grubby feel as you know someone will be sitting there later it a classic old pub anymore but more a place at crufts if dogs really have to attend the pub with their owners then allow them in the bar not the lounge

This has got to be the best turnaround of a local pub doomed to failure. Due to the good management now in place and the forward thinking towards what the village and general public require. This scores 100. I recommend this place highly. Looking forward to food in place in 2020. Gavin you are doing a fantastic job.

The Bear has been going down hill for years, to the point that it had almost become extinct!
The makeover and re-launch is subtle, classy and successful.
At last it feels like a pub where you'd want to go.
The two bars have been knocked through and combined tastefully and successfully, and all the games stuff has been shunted out the back to the conservatory.
After all this time, the locals are voting wth their feet and rediscovering The Bear.
They are inexplicably trying to sell some local plonk as their house wine, but apart from that, good effort and worth a visit.
Just for info, no food, no dogs, no kids.

The Bear is now open with a new landlord and being refurbished, a good selection of draught ales and lagers are available, pool table and dart board in the back room...

The Bear has had a turnaround. Fresh redec and rebar and the beer management has moved to a 10 out of 10. Gin junkies have loads to choose from and the pub is good for all tastes. The beer was ace and the hand pumps have variety and there’s no designer none sense. A quick few pints of Boon Doggie blond hand pulled beer fixed my backache nicely. Friendly all round and a welcome competitor to the village!
Thanks
Mach.

Bar man was so helpful, a jolly relaxed man called Wayne. A boozer that's well recommended.

Food unfortunately is ready salted, cheese and onion and pork scratchings.

Landlady very warm and pleasant

Beer was very good

Full of regulars from the village and the odd party from the golf course

No atmosphere. The landlord was like a tramp, unshaven and drunk. ( His name was Stev I think ) The beer was terrible and the pub food was a joke. Avoid this place, it gives pubs a bad name. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life.

A great New Year's Eve at the Bear Inn . A local pub with a good atmosphere and a cracking band - Beat2Beat band who played a good selection of music from the 60s to the 80s and got everyone on the dancefloor.
Well-organised with free admission, and the beer was very good too.

Horribly loud sports pub with dull uninteresting host. I actually left my beer it was so loud with only three people in the place, one of those was the barman,he had a hoody on and was playing the bandit, I couldn't believe how loud all those TVs were!!!

A rubbish attempt at a pub, who on Earth is it for, other than white van man, members of ukip and EDL?
