Only the ramparts of a once huge castle remains with a large tower which has been beautifully restored and houses a large museum. Entry or entritt is a bit expensive but not too high. There is a nice restaurAnt at the top as well which also affords a beautiful view of the surrounding town of dillenburg and sechshelden.

Very interesting museum with subterranian pathways large enough for an army, coaches and horses. I was impressed. Dungeon where Ruebens was held prisoner. Great restaurant with views over Dillenburg directly at the Tower. Museum and a lot of other sightseeing possiblities within walking and within driving distance.

It was a really interesting and informative tour. One thing we need to say: lots of it is underground and constantly cold down there. Be prepared. It's an informative and interesting guided tour. The price is really adequate for what you get. Very enjoyable.

The Wilhelmsturm was erected in honour of William of Orange, the main rebel in the Dutch revolt against Spanish rule. It was erected in the 1870s, so not that old. Inside is a small museum focused on the Orange-Nassau family. The walls around the tower are much older, and underground there are casemates, only visible from the inside (with a... More

Walked up to the tower from the town and missed the last 3:00 p.m. tour and then got caught in a rain storm! It didn't stop us - we went back the following afternoon and had a great visit! You can drive up to the tower where there is ample parking. There is a small museum with displays and information... More

Get known to Herborn's medieval history. This little city was founded sometimes about 500A.D. and still preserves a lot of historical buildings in its center.

The tower is only a 140 years old, so not at all historical. It was not open , as was the church and the villa Gruen . I expected more of this site

The city of Dillenburg is a nice town with half timbered houses, above the city the Wilhelmsturm, a impressive landmark to say the least. it is a tourist attraction, but it can be booked for weddings as well. A small garden with a statue of Prince Wilhelm of Nassau, which was unveiled by Queen Beatrix of Netherlands. The areal is... More
