Its not in honor of the many Prussian Wilhelms, but in honor of Wilhelm the Taciturn, Prince of Nassau-Dillenburg, later Nassau-Orange. He is the founder-father of the Dutch dynasty and there were a few Nassau-Orangists ruling Britain. My hometown has always been a point of...More

It was a really interesting and informative tour. One thing we need to say: lots of it is underground and constantly cold down there. Be prepared. It's an informative and interesting guided tour. The price is really adequate for what you get. Very enjoyable.

The Wilhelmsturm was erected in honour of William of Orange, the main rebel in the Dutch revolt against Spanish rule. It was erected in the 1870s, so not that old. Inside is a small museum focused on the Orange-Nassau family. The walls around the tower...More

Walked up to the tower from the town and missed the last 3:00 p.m. tour and then got caught in a rain storm! It didn't stop us - we went back the following afternoon and had a great visit! You can drive up to the...More

Get known to Herborn's medieval history. This little city was founded sometimes about 500A.D. and still preserves a lot of historical buildings in its center.

The tower is only a 140 years old, so not at all historical. It was not open , as was the church and the villa Gruen . I expected more of this site
