My husband and I booked a full day out with Jean-Guy - we wanted to see more of Tenerife than just the usual tourist spots, learn more about the history and wildlife and do a spot of bird-watching. We were not disappointed! Jean-Guy is so knowledgeable about both the history and development of the island, and its flora and fauna (particularly the birdlife - some of which is unique not just to the Canary Islands but to Tenerife itself). We visited different areas - amazingly there are so many different micro-climates, not just the obvious sunny south, rainier north and colder volcanic plateau. He also took us to a unique and rustic place for lunch.
And the birds - wow! Jean-Guy loaned us each a good pair of binoculars to use, but supplemented those with his own viewing telescope on tripod (more wow - the close-ups were stunning, plus Jean-Guy's own excitement when we got incredibly lucky to see five (five!!) of one of the more elusive local birds) and he also took photos that he sent on to us afterwards. We couldn't have had a more enjoyable day out. Thank you so much - we will remember this for many years to come.
(P.S. Jean-Guy is also knowledgeable/qualified for astronomical tours too - we didn't do a night-time trip with him as we'd already signed up with another company, but I'm sure anyone booking him for night sky watching wouldn't be disappointed).

We had a wonderful trip with our guide Anne from Masca village down to the beach and back!
Although it was quiet exhausting we had a perfect trip!
Anne is a wonderful guide and has almost enciclopedic knowledge of plants and animals throughout the island!
Furthermore Anne and Jean-Guy didn't hesitate to fuel our hiking needs with further tips for wonderful trails!
Thank you both a lot, looking foward to return to Tenerife! :)

We had the excellent experience of viewing stunning Mount Teide with Jean- Guy. He is so patient and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. Such an informative and engaging guide. So pleased we took the opportunity.

I visited Tenerife in January. Although it was not high season, Jean still managed to make it really interesting and memorable. He shared with us a huge amount of interesting information and replied to all our questions, even looking up info when he was not sure. His English is very good and understandable. He took us on both natural and cultural tours and he was well informed on both. Jean is very professional but also friendly and approachable. It was a GREAT experience.

We went on an 8 hour private family tour on Gran Canaria with Guillermo. We really enjoyed the tour, would have never managed to see on our own all the places Guillermo took us to. We also appreciated the way he gave us all the stories about the island and his overall great and professional approach. Guillermo’s way of describing nature and history was amazing. Very recommendable!!!

After sunset our family took the star-gazing private tour in the Teide National Park. Going up the mountain Jean-Guy Le Roux described the birth of the Canary islands through volcanic eruptions 2-20 million years ago and how the islands slowly were populated by plants and animals after soil had been created from the lava stone. At approximately 1800 m above sea level he then introduced us to the fantastic universe describing planets, stars and galaxies. With his tools a mobile telescope, a laser pointer and an Ipad we gained an immense amount of knowledge that ought to be the common knowledge of every human being on earth. We all felt very humble standing there watching the amazing outer space.

We did the stargazing private tour in Teide National Park. Everything about this experience was top notch with impeccable service. Jean is not only knowledgeable about the region and astronomy but he has a passion for it which makes the experience all the better. We spent an hour watching the sunset and sipping champagne as the sky turned so many different colors. Jean took candid photos of us capturing some lovely moments. We had a lovely dinner in the National
Park. The day of our tour the weather wasn’t too clear to properly stargaze, Jean arranged to take us out again the next night. This was a truly special touch on his part. The sky was amazing the following day. Jean spend a good amount of time showing and teaching us new things about astronomy.
We had an amazing time and everything about this tour was top level. Jean truly cares about his guests and he treats you in such a way that makes you feel special. I can’t ask for anything more while on vacation.
Thank you for the amazing memories and bringing us closer to the stars.

If you’re looking for a great day out exploring Tenerife then we can highly recommend Jean-Guy Le Roux at Guia Natura Eco Tourism as a guide. We did the island tour encompassing villages and Mount Teide. Jean was a brilliant guide, extremely knowledgeable about so much of the island and it’s fauna and flora. Highlights include the view down over Masca, dragon tree at Icod de los Vinos and the pretty town of La Orotava with its balconied houses. Also a fantasy local tapas lunch with wine here (included in our trip price). And then of course there is Mount Tiede itself. The drive up through the clouds and the amazing landscape at the top. We had an amazing visit to the north of the island with Jean. A very informative walk through the ancient forest was followed by a fascinating visit to a small-holding supplying organic produce to a restaurant in Santa Cruz. Having walked down to the small-holding we were treated to a ride up the hill by the farmer in the back of his truck - a welcome rest for our legs & huge fun! A visit to the restaurant (Panza Burro) to sample the fresh produce was a truly memorable end to the day.

I reached out to GuiaNatura with a last minute need for a guide in Tenerife. After reading the glowing reviews about Jean specifically, I was really excited to have him show me and a colleague around the island. Unfortunately, he was not personally available on the only day we had free (this was a work trip), and arranged for us to go with another guide that works with him. I was a bit ambivalent, as all of the 5 star reviews reference Jean and how amazing he is, but his communication was excellent, and really helped me trust him and his ability to ensure we had a great time.
The trust was not misguided - our trip was awesome! We were staying in a hotel on the north end of the island, and our guide, Felix, picked us up first thing in the morning as planned. He was INCREDIBLY nice, we really enjoyed our entire day with him. Being that we only had one day, we wanted to go hiking on the volcano. The drive was beautiful, and the guide did a great job on educating us all along the way. He was a wealth of information, but not in a 'teachery' sort of way, we felt like we were hanging out with one of our friends.
The hike in Tiede was stunning - we took the cable car most of the way up, and then hiked to the peak. The elevation was a bit challenging, but not too bad, and the hike from the cable car to the summit is pretty short. It's incredibly rewarding - the views are outstanding.
After descending from Tiede, Felix took us to several more locations all around Tiede, and then a couple more short hikes with amazing views on the way back. Both my colleague and I are big foodies, and Felix brought us to the perfect local restaurant to experience Canarian food.
I can't say enough good things about this experience - the quality of the guide, the value for the money, everything was spot on. I'd strongly suggest using this company.
