Lift costs 2 euros 70 up to the top, but it's free to come down. Walk up if you have a bit of stamina, explore and then have a coffee on the lovely terrace of the café overlooking Alicante.

You'll get a great general view of Alicante from the top of the mountain. Try to choose an hour when there is no rush in order to avoid queuing at the lift.

The castle is situated above Alicante and demands a challenging climb. It’s a lovely walk and totally worth the effort. Seemingly there’s a lift available for those unwilling or unable. Regardless, it’s worth the effort as the castle is beautiful and well maintained. Limited information...More

There is no entry fee. You can walk up a path or you can pay to take an elevator that is accessible from the street level across fom Postiguet beach.

The walk takes about 45 minutes (normal pace). The lift is only 2.7 euro but is free if one is 65 or over and can show ID.

While there are steps to some areas even going to the top & looking around is worth it. Just ask at the bottom as the lift can take you all the way up then it makes it easier coming down.
