My wife and I enjoyed our visit to the Castle of Santa Barbara. We were accompanied by a guide who provided us with excellent information. The elevator up to the castle was convenient, and senior citizens (over age 65) rode to the top for free. I think this is a not to miss experience.

Well worth the 2.80 euro entry fee-lift ride from beach to castle way above the city. Fantastic view over the city and surrounding area, make sure you wear an hat and put on the sun screen. Great to walk around and soak up the atmosphere. An ideal way to spend the day away from the beach.

Loved our afternoon at the Castle. The views are amazing. Great to wander around and had a nice jug of sangria at the restaurant!

The Santa Barba Castle is a great construction and allows the visitor to take some stunning photos of the beautiful city of Alicante and its beaches. You can see the whole city from up there. It's free. The Castle counts on visitors to help telling the history of families from Valencia. Wear comfortable tennis shoes, as you'll walk up and... More

We used the lift to go up and walked down the old city wall route which was difficult to find.Good cafe and English translations on all exhibits. There is a new zizag pathway down which ends at the "Water Museum"...no English translations here very disappointing. Interesting...views magnificent.

The way up is not too bad, you can take your time enjoying the views. I was told by the locals it was better not to take the elevator because you won't enjoy the entire experience as much. It is worth the visit and it is free.

Fantastic views of city _ walked to top one route and down by another. Lift access hard to locate. There is a public road that goes right to the top so accessible for disabled Cafe and toilets also available.

You can get the coach up Walk up Or catch the lift which is a little hidden. We got the lift. We didn't pay and somehow got into the castle for free. But on the way down there was a massive queue in the tunnel as a man was now taking payments. Avoid if you don't like small confined spaces.... More
