The entrance to the market is quite grand and fitting for quality and variety of the food available to buy. English markets are not in the same league.

This is a lovely building and although there is a fruit and veg section most of the market is dedicated the meat and fish so of you are veggie you probably won’t like it.

We stayed in an airbnb very nearby and used this market a lot. They sold fish, seafood, meat, fruit, vegetables, eggs, loose dried fruit/nuts, bread, cake jam, honey and some dried goods. There were also a couple of places to have a sit down snack.

Old building forming the central market. Entrances on several roads and market stalls spread over tow floors. 1. Meat and general household on 1st floor 2. Fish; fruit and veg on 2nd Really good place to visit to see and smell the fresh produce.

Housed in a beautiful building, the Central Market from Alicante is a good way to understand how important is food for the Spanish people, what kind and what quality you could expect in a restaurant, etc.

Really easy. It's a 5 minute walk on one road heading towards past the Praça Lucerne. Or a taxi ride. No Uber in Alicante. Very simple. Very close.
