    House with the blue pots
Take the West walls path down from the Castle. Great views. Steep, so reasonable mobility required. Pretty white washed terraced cottages with the famous House with the blue pots. Come out into the old town.

Breath of fresh air away from the crowds
Beautiful walk by carefully painted homes surrounded by potted flowers. Perhaps one of the best secrets in Alicante We visited Santa Cruz from the Castillo Santa Barbara. There is a path directly to the top of Santa Cruz

    Alicante it has everything
Alicante is a brilliant place to visit. We had 5 days there with and overnight to Torrevieja for an excursion. Alicante has lots of fantastic bars and Restaurants as well as many Historic sights to visit. It's got a brilliant public transport network that is both cheap and clean. Benidorm is just a short tram trip away same as a short Bus journey to Torrevieja is. We will be back that's for sure.

Lovely place to visit lots of amazing photo opportunities. The blue pots and the steps leading up to the park are gorgeous. Visited at Easter and managed to see the possession. A lovely neighbourhood

    It’s a nice stroll ….
It’s a nice area to stroll around …… nothing very exciting happening here though. If you have visited different places in Spain then you have probably come across streets like these elsewhere. So it’s nice but not very special. I’m not actually sure if it’s worth any kind of detour. If you’re short on time in Alicante then you can give this a miss …..

Such a pretty and traditional neighbourhood of Alicante. Steep streets with lovely houses, especially do not miss a house with blue pots as they say “ very instagrammable “ .
Just such a pleasant feeling to wonder around this neighbourhood, look at the beautiful houses and see how the regular people live here. Very charming.

What pretty little houses and narrow streets! A must place to explore when visiting Alicante. Barrio de Santa Cruz also provides direct access to Santa Barbara Castle. Just be aware that this place is not wheelchair friendly and the streets tend to be steep in most areas.

We took the lift up to the castle, only 3+ Euros, that was the only cost incurred. The castle and surrounding landscape is stunning, fantastic views, a couple of cafes and fresh air - perfect!
