Interesting church
Oct 2019
South Creake is quite a small place but the church is rather large which indicates that in centuries past this was a much busier community. The church was open dawn to dusk but, in common with other churches in the area, visitors are asked to keep the outer mesh gate closed to prevent birds getting into the churches! We'd been visiting churches in the area with connections to our family history and at this church we found that someone had gone to the trouble of providing folders full of transcripts of parish registers, and other local information - even put a chair/table for visitor use. I had a quick look through and found a couple of snippets of information which I hadn't found online. I'm always happy to put something in the collection box - I think it's important we chip in to help maintain these centres of the community.

I have visited this church many times and it has a lovely atmosphere. It contains many fascinating items and the ceiling angel carvings are stunning.

Church not open, key at house across road, overgrown churchyard
Jun 2018 • Couples
We assumed that the church would be open but we found a sign saying the key was at the house across the road, and as it was quite late we did not feel it was reasonable to disturb the owners. The churchyard is quite overgrown but accessible - not much of interest. The sign said it was a Commonwealth War Grave but we saw no evidence of that outside.

Worth a Visit
Aug 2017 • Friends
We have visited this area more than once and it is always an uplifting experience with a lovely Tea Room. The whole area is free to visit and stroll around.

The one place worth a visit also, across the road is the Priory and its grounds. It also has the history of Walsingham. You pay a token entrance which is truly worth it, with history and the beautiful grounds and walks including a Packhorse Bridge with Gargoyles.

Enjoy

Lovely church with a surprise looking down on the nave
Jul 2016 • Couples
Wonderful peaceful and light church with a lovely feeling about it. The nave has a row of carved angels looking down from both sides of the ceiling.

The most peaceful and serene church.
Sep 2015 • Couples
We have visited this church on several occasions. We are not avid church goers nor great believers but this wonderful ancient church has an appeal and a certain peaceful air and calming effect that if we lived locally then we might become regular worshipers there. Its a great place to visit or to just sit or look around inside or maybe just reflect for a short while. It seems to lift our spirits. Of interest to many we suspect. Don't spoil it.
