Visited on Saturday 19th May. On our way from Blenheim to Kaikoura we stopped to have a look at this interesting road/rail bridge. Vehicles no longer go across this bridge but it worth stopping to have a look at, there is an information board giving...More

What was once an exciting highlight of any trip between Christchurch / Blenheim, has now been confined to history..... Previously cars drove over the bridge, and trains crossed via same bridge but new highway bridge now built which means unless you aim to stop and...More

This is a fascinating part of the district history. The only permanent traffic lights in Marlborough were on this bridge as it was one way, and traffic used to back up often. I recall prior to the lights going on the bridge, that due to...More

Stopped to view this old bridge and wistfully remembered driving over it when I was a child. It was a double decker with the cars on the bottom and trains going overhead. Its only for trains now but still an awesome old bridge.

came across the bridge by surprise, really thought it is a shame it is closed. The structure is pretty unique

On State Highway1 South of Blenheim and just North of Seddon this historic bridge which is still used by rail and which the road used to go underneath has been replaced by a wonderful new two way bridge. Stop and take a photo.

The railway and road bridge at Seddon is a unique reminder of the past. The bridge was built with the railway tracks on the top level and the road underneath. It is unused by road traffic these days but remains open for rail.
